I am thinking doing an HID conversion but was woundering that since the car has the auto light feature will it affect that and would they need to stay on all the time. Also if anyone has any suggestion to any websites to buy an HID Kit.

The how to forum has a bunch of stuff on disabling those factors if you want to rid yourself of them altogether.

Are you from Canada or the US?

What year is your car?

I did alot of research into HID's so I can probably give you a hand here.

There's a way to disable the automatic lights, i just disabled the DRLs and it gave me control over the lights at night. I'm no expert on them, but mine work fine.

Thats what he'll need to do if he has a car where the outers are the DRL's. Having auto headlights and HID's is a good thing ;)

If i end up getting a HID kit on mine I will have to figure what to do with the DRLs because mine are the low-beams. It's weird how originally the high-beams were the DRLs and they switched over in the later years.

I got a HID kit for my mom's truck from http://www.misterjung.com and it was very easy to install and works well.

Just a question. I disabled the DRLs in my Al, but i had the "hi-beam". Are you guys saying that if you disable "low-beam" DRLs, you're also disabling the "auto at night" feature?

No i don't think they are saying that, Some of the newer models have the DRL's as your low beams during they day, and some like mine which is a 99 has the high beams as the DRL's. I guess you don't want the low beams on during the day AS DRL's cuase they are only putting out a % of full output or something.

Just my Guess though

my 2000 did as well, i'm not sure when they switched over exactly, but my 2004 uses low beams... or at least it used to use the low beams
