i just purchased a 2000 olds alero...i traded in my lil geo prizm-that-could...i'm still kind of scared of purchasing a new vehicle...i'm hoping it will survive with the way i drive...my prizms tranny survived quite well with my lead foot ways...but alas i lost control on some ice and hit a curb a few weeks ago and the repairs were just not worth it...well they weren't worth it to anyone else...i would have much rather just fixed my prizm....but i am happy with the alero...its a sharp car and i finally own a vehicle thats from this millenium...plus i like the fact it goes from 0-100 in the time my prizm used to take to get to 60mph...anyways any feed back or things i may need to know about alero's or any suggestions will be welcome

i also can't decide to get a WAI or a CAI....i live right outside of boston and the weather isn't always the greatest...any suggestions?

welcome to the site...use the search feauture if you have any questions. If you cant find it, ask away. Wai's are cheaper and easier to install but you won't notice that significant amount of change with just an intake.

i don't even know if i want to start fixing up the engine yet...the engine has 95000 miles on it...and it is an everyday driver...i'm very prone to driving my vehicles hard althogh i do like the fact i don't have to stomp on the gas to get any extra speed out of this car

i'd also like to transfer my system from my prizm into my alero...i have one 12" alpine in a box and a set of rockford fosgate 5.25" fanatic-x's with crossovers and tweeters... i need to get a new deck....and all i have for an amp is a 500w 4 channel sony xplod i got from walmart (its a pos)...i don't have a huge budget though so my system will prolly take at least 6 months...and i dunno if i'd rather just get a couple 10" speakers

the alero doesn't really need much done to it...i figure just tint the windows, add a stereo system and probably rims in the future....and then move on to engine mods....unless i can find something that would give me better gas mileage without losing performance
