An Idea ...

Like the title says, just an idea I had...

I'm a huge fan of Roush mustangs. I hate most other mustangs, but the Roushes to me are awesome and I think one of the things that sets them apart from the rest is the side exit exhaust. I think it looks soooo much sportier than your everyday run of the mill dual rear exit, and WAY more classier than your average fart-can.

So....I was thinking of perhaps getting the Razzi kit, and cutting the side skirts to accomodate these SLP tips

so that they exit in front of the rear wheels.

I just thought it'd be a cool twist on an idea and something I've not seen on an Alero yet. Any thoughts?

hmmm..that would look a bit odd, just because i haven't seen it done on an alero. But if u want to do it then do it, i'm sure you'll get flamed..jk..but yeah i think few have wanted to do this..just no one with balls to acutally follow through..post pics if you do get it done.

sounds like a good idea. i myself would never have the balls to do that unless i saw it done on another alero first. i really want to see what it turns out to look like.

If i recall correctly I don't think you can have the exhaust exit under the cabin of the car. Which is why the exhaust is placed at the end of the car. Although I could be wrong Im sure that right in fornt the rear wheel is consider under the cabin. Grouch could you check?

I've got the 2.2 Ecotec, and yes its a 4 door. What I may do today is photoshop it and see how it would look. I'll post pics and let you see how it turns out. Now that someone mentioned it, I'm not sure how it would look on the sedan, it'd be cool regardless I think, but it may look kinda funny on a sedan.

there have been some people thinking about doing this, but nobody ever has. I think one of the big problems was the gas tank on the pass side where you want the exhaust to come out. Another issue is if you get the razzi kit, you're going to have to holes in the back where the exhaust is "supposed" to come out

its a good idea but seeing as the muffler is all the way in the rear and there is literally no other place to mount your muffler anymore upfront you would hafta re-route your piping after the muffler all the way back up to the sideskirts.....

I think there are state (or federal) laws that the exhaust can't exit within the cabin area. On a 2 door, this would be OK, on a 4 door you may fail inspection for it.

You could always take the route of the SRT-4 and not use a muffler, btu then you would have to Y the pipes off somewhere up front OR run true duals

I'm thinking I'll try something different. Like i said, that was just an idea, and now that I know it looks like crap on the sedan I've decided against it.

It can be done with a twister race muffler. Contact MilzyZ34 he may be able to sell you a kit he used to build for Monte Carlos.

You just have to be careful about what you route it near, because ya don't want to get too close to the gas tank or any cables/lines. That's why I only have one side outlet on my beretta. It also gets pretty difficult to keep it quiet with the space available.

This is about as low-profile for a tip as it gets

or you can just modify your bumper and exhast to look like the osv exhaust, thats what im gonna do :thumb:
