1999 Coupe
In my trunk, I find that there is a certain wetspot in the insulation underneath the left side of the spare tire. Nothing above it is wet, the circular cover for the spare is completely dry, and so it everything surrounding the spare well. It's just one side of the well that is wet. Underneath the carpet/insulation stuff, there is no obvious source of water.
I could not comprehend what the "General Waterleak Diagnostic" post was talking about concerning the trunk. Some pictures it mentions to look at, aren't there.
Tips on what I should do?

here's a little something to think about: did you have any snow this winter? like a LOT of it? did you open the trunk when you had the snow? Perhaps the snow melted and never dried up.

Yea, but it was a while ago and man could it really last that long?

Puddles dry up because the moisture has a place to go (away...like the sky). Moisture in your trunk has no place to go when the trunk lid is closed all the time. On a nice dry, sunny and hot day, (if you have the time) have the trunk lid open to "air it out". Shop-vacs and fans might help this out a bit. Oh, and while you're at it, take the spare out. I bet there's a "science project" down there.
Also, check the "gasket" around the edge of your trunk. Make sure there's no rips or holes in it.

from the title i wasnt thinking we were talking about a trunk...
anywho back on topic... my last car (93 cavalier) my driver's side floor would never dry. even in the middle of a drought in summer it would be bare bones dry, then as soon as i drove it would be soaked, (w/ water) i was thinking about sending it to some desert and selling it due to the fact that it produced water. i never found where it came from, instead i sold it for the alero.
story over.
(as for the trunk issue, i'd with albino, let it dry and see if it gets soaked again...)

OK I'm letting it dry and no moisture thus far....this is good, cause I'm bout to load up the trunk with some FrostKing.
BUT. I found that my right rear carpet inside the car is soaked. My $90 AP Env.Sci. book unfortunately soaked some up and is inflated to twice its size. Ugh. I guess I will look for the Diag. post again for some info on this.
