I was thinking about painting my stock rims. Like, taking them off, sandblasting them, sanding them down, prepping them, then painting them a gunmetal color... has anyone tried this? I think our rims are very decent and some of my friends prefer my rims over aftermarket ones. But I want my rims to go with the color scheme of my car... silver n black, so I was gonna spraypaint them gunmetal, do like a really decent job... not just like, 1-2 coats you know... thoughts? :hide:

you can use that new duplicolor stuff, it has been done before and works well, just make sure you clear coat them......if this is something more permanent (instead of just a thing until you can acutally afford real gunmetal rims) i would pay for a powdercoat job

powder coat them if you want the finish to last.

I had a friend have his Sunbird rims painted by the bodyshop at the BMW dealership we worked for. His were painted "BlackCherry", looked fantastic and held up extremely well until he sold it 3 years later.
