View Full Version : Recarpet Rear Dash

Im wantin to redo the rear speaker deck, but the carpet thing is i guess glued in on one side and i cant figure out what to do to get it out without breaking something. any one have any ideas?

If you got a Sedan it is easy, just pull your back seats down and start popping molding off holding it down. If you have a coupe you need to pull your back seatbelts, have fun. I had a sedan and it is easy, I hope you have a sedan.

i don't think that's quite the answer he was looking for, V. I think he means the carpet fabric that's glued to the rear panel, not the 'removal' of the rear panel itself. That carpet is glued to the panel, so there's no simple peeling that can be done. I'm just gonna trim mine down with some clippers as close as possible, and just go to a fabric store and let it overlap. But nothing too thick to keep it from sitting in there properly.

Thanks sport that was the answer i was looking for lol. i figured i would have to do some cutting but i wanted to make sure before i actually did it so i didnt mess anything up.

yeah hes right coupes are a pain in the @$$!!!! i used a spray adhesive, it works alright i wasnt impressed i never did figure out how to get my speaker grills and such back on, too lazy i'll post pics of mine the next time the sun comes up in the state of maine.
