Does anyone know how to reduce the gap between the middle-top part of the bumper and the hood where they meet?

I've noticed some Aleros have almost no gap, while others (like mine) have about a 1/2" gap. I had an accident and the body shop said there is no way to adjust the space any closer

Any help is appreciated.

the only way would be to wedge something under that part of the bumper so it will raise up but then some other holes or lines maynot line up. the bumper would probably have to be redrill and who knows what else.

Actually.... that's what I did Scott - put some stick-on rubber things under the upper part of the bumper to raise it up. (Great minds think alike. lol)

I was just wondering WHY some Aleros have different size gaps in this area - or if maybe someone figured out how to reduce the gap. I never took off the bumper myself so I don't know if there is some mounts that are adjustable.

I saw one parked next to me in the mall parking lot the other day that was almost completely flush. Weird.

get a deer to sit on your hood while you are doin about 60 kph and that'll fix that gap right up! Worked for me :D

I was in an accident also. I ripped my whole front end apart. It wasn't that hard (about <1.5 hrs). There's nothing to adjust. My brackets, where the bumer re-inforcement attach to, are skewed down. This appears to be part of the sub-frame (I have no autobody experience, but the brackets appear to be part of the car). I used some washers as spacers to bring the bottom of the plastic re-inforcement. I also used duck tape and some wood shims (ha ha) on top of the foam piece -- which sits on top of the bumper re-inforcement. This helped one side quite a bit, but I still have a gap by the passenger's headlight. I took a few pics with everything apart. e-mail or PM me if you would like them.
