do a search on wheel hubs .... seems that the one or both may need to be replaced...but check out the threads....

Hi gang,
Trying to troubleshoot my GF's 2000 Alero. She is having the same issue: the servie engine, traction off, and abs lights all come on at the same time.
Done lots of searching over here and at oldsmobileforums.com. It appears it's a sensor issue (either bad or dirty from brake dust... brakes are another issue on these cars it appears), a bearing, or wheel hub issue.
So what exaclty is the wheel hub? Is this an easy DIY job? We need to drive this car 2000 miles in a few weeks, and we don't need it stranding us :) I can't physically inspect the car for another week, so what advice can you give me to tell her? Is this something expensive to replace?
How can we determine if it's a wheel bearing, hub, or sensor? I had her take it to AutoZone and they could not pull up any codes.
Thanks,
Eric
