i was wondering how much body kits are to get put on professionally and if i should have them paint the kit the same as my car and then get if put on or if i should just get the paint job after? :)

1) put it on, yourself. This is to make sure it fits before you spend too much money. If it doesn't fit, you can always get your money back (if you didn't damage it or paint it)
THEN, IF IT FITS...
2) take it off and put the stock stuff back on until the new kit is painted. Everybody will rip on you if you have an unpainted kit on your car (look at crammers...j/k)
If you paint it yourself, I would suggest NOT using a spray can. That can easily look like crap. If you don't have the proper equipment, have a professional do it. :thumb:

my kit is being molded on for $2600. It was gonna be $1255 for just paint and minor body work to make it fit better than I was able to do it.

okay well im not going to be able to put it on or paint it myself since i have no idea how to even begin to do that....so it's like two thousand dollars to get it put on once you get the kit!?
and im gonna have to have someone paint it too. i think i want to repaint the whole car so how much do you think that will run me?

i think remolding makes the kit smoother. There will be no lines between the bodykit and the car. like between the bumper and fender in the front, so it looks like one piece not two.

Well, I forgot to mention that the car is being repainted as well. And that the hood and fender were keyed so that had to be sanded down and redone. So I am having the kit molded on the front, rear, and sides, hood sanded down, fender sanded down, and the whole car repainted for 2600. It was the best price I could find around where I live.

once its molded it becomes part of the fenders. if you just put it on like normal you would be able to remove it for winter use.

oh but if u do that then...it doesnt look near as good well crap!

one other thing about molding is that it can crack over time due to flexing of the body and everything else that puts forces on the car. idk if they have anything to make it flexible or stronger so it doesnt crack, maybe sound can answer that one a bit better then i can. just something else to be aware of if you plan on molding.

The stuff they are using on my car is called Lord Fuser. It's really good stuff. The body of the car is more likely to crack before the bond between the fender and bumper will with this stuff. I'm also having metal strips put behind the kit to strengthen it in case I bottom out or something.

so you ask us if you should get a kit and lower it...and basically answered your own question. We defend/agree with your decision, and you get defensive.

no im getting it lowered either way! lol im not getting defensive in any way! :)
i just dont wanna have to jack my car up lol. it feel like an suv now as it is...too high :(
this city is full of potholes and getting it bagged would just rip my car to shreds...cars here(mainly civics) are sooooo low, like literally 2 inches off the road, they get their kits torn up!(trust me if i could get it bagged without the worry of losing my car to scrapes and breaks, id be on top of it cuz it looks hott!)
