Hey all,

on KYB's website, if u do a product search on the alero:

KYB Website - Oldsmobile Alero (http://www.kyb.com/catalog/index.php?Action=Submit&MakeID=Oldsmobile&ModelID=406&x=33&y=21)

1999-04 - Lower Spring Seat Insulator - Front Mount - SM5420

I remember a while ago there was a thread on KYB struts having too much space between the top of lowering springs and the upper strut mount. I was wondering if the insulator listed above fixes that issue.

Does anyone have the insulator listed above installed in their ride? anyone know what it will do exactly? will it help with any suspension noises like creaking or popping?

lastly -- will installing these (in the front) effect the drop of the front?? aka if you install these insulators - will they raise your drop?

THX!

I don't have these on my car, and I've never had a problem. Once the car is taken off of the lift and the weight is put back on the struts, the springs seat just fine, but you are right. The spring (atleast sprintechs) will not seat while the car is in the air.
