So i found a friend to help me install springs and struts so now i need to buy. I dont plan on racing so i just want something that will lowwer my car 1.5" - 2" and with decent sturts will still have a nice ride and turning ability. anyone know where i can get a kit that includes springs and struts? otherwise can i get some links? im pretty sure im going with Sprint or spring tech springs. just need a good set of cheap struts which i dont know much about.

there's always the monroe fronts i have in the bazaar section. just pick up a set of rears from advanced and you'll be set.

they usually get them in within 2 weeks.

i called and asked for application and they were out of stock and takes about 2 weeks to get them in.

and do not use struts that are ment for a stock ride height. especially with a 1.8" drop.

sorry to the guy selling his Monroe's but they are not ment for lowered cars. the shaft/piston in "sport suspensions" like the susp tech, KYB, Koni, etc... shorten the shaft/piston so it wont bottom out inside of the cartridge.

you "can" use stock ride height struts with lowered cars, but its not recomended.

ya i didnt feel like waiting so im holding off on lowering and getting tint, exhaust, ignition cables, and CAI in first.

and its rumored that 2" drop wont go over well in winter weather so im gonna wait tell i can get eibach pro set.

2" drop should be ok for most places in the US. hell i live in minnesota and a few buddies are dropped that low, if not more and they are fine.

well, i had the same concern about winter, but then again, it wouldnt be a good idea to drive the alero in heavy snow not lowered, so, i guess it's not that big of an issue

two words.....

snow plows

wait for them to clear the roads, or get a body kit and do your own plowing.

^ haha exactly my point, you really shouldnt be driving an alero in 6 inches of snow anyway

the plow trucks around here are pretty consistant about clearing the roads after heavy snow falls.

but each state is different.

personally, i will be rocking a 2" drop soon and it will be driven in the winter here in minnesota.

Ohio sucks balls when it comes to snow plowing. The Dayton area anyways. We had that snow right before Christmans this year and it was 3 days before they plowed my street and I live in the damn city.

Sooo... a 2" drop with tha AAS kit and Salt Lake City wont be a good match?

you could do it, i just wouldnt plan on driving anywhere in anything but VERY light snow....otherwise you're going to be plowing the stuff around, and if you're really not careful, even breaking the body kit

I couldn't drive my car with the AAS kit and sprint springs for a couple days this winter, about 2 months ago. The snow was too deep
