Openening Rear View Mirror

any way to open the rearview mirror so i can get the 194 lights out easier? or do i just have to yank on them with a needle nose?

I'm not trying to whore, but I wanna know if i can do this and spray some foam hardening shiz in the mirror area to stop it from making noise when i bump bump bump.

Yse you can. Take it off the mount by unscrewing the screwand sliding it up. Unplug the wires for the lights if you have the map lights in the mirror. you will notice a small gap like space going around the outeredge of the mirror marking where the 2 halves come together. Take a flathead screwdriver and pry the 2 pieces apart. Be careful mine was alittle tight and tough. Once done with whatever you're doing in there just snap the 2 halves back together and remount on the windshield.


although just pulling the bulbs with a pair of needlenose is alot easier.

upon close examination and lots of prying i determined that if you have a rear view mirror that has map reader lights in it dont try and seperate it, i think it is impossible. however i did discover that the bulbs are not screwed in on a little mount like the 194's in the doom light, these bulbs however are just in little clips, if you stick a small flat head screw driver in the little gap in the shinny are around the bulb the bulb will come flying out with a little pressure.
