i was thinking about doing something similar. just with the led's behind the lens. so it lights up when my signal is hit. (makes an amber glow behind the mirror)

looks better at night because of the curve of the mirror and the fact that the LEDs are very directional, as you go by, the brightest part of the cluster moves too......ill have to take a vid of it, cuz everyones prolly confused right now...lol

anyone interested in these I will start doing them....takes a little time because of the work involved but eh...whatever.

That looks pretty sweet, will they work with the GAGT mirrors as well?

AnderbrA

they will work, just would have to do a different pattern possibly.....something that will look good.

I can do them for anyone who either can send their mirrors or has a spare set.

Are white turning lights illegal?

Anderdude, can you post a pic upclose of how the leds are situated and the protection against the elements?

I was going to coat them with epoxy or some sort of insulation, but other than that, they are behind the mirror when its put together, so the only way something can get in there is if you force it in there...aka car wash...

depends where u live if they are legal or not. in Nb canada they are legal :) no ugly orange signals for me!

On the outside?

AnderbrA

the holes are only big enough for the leds to fit....and the clear coat will seal them. Nothing can get through.

How do plan on wiring them to the blinker, and were those power mirrors you worked with?

Quoted post

you would ground the neg line to something...and run a pos wire from the blinker in the headlight...that wuold be the easiest.....in this set, it would go to a switch to swap from red to amber.

simplified:
its 2 wires.....1 goes to a ground, the other goes to the + wire in the blinker in the headlight.....

I see. I think it would be cool to have leds just behind the mirror so as to give a mirror halo. How are the leds secured in your blinkers?

epoxy.
