View Full Version : E-brake Pop While Driving

ok im about to put my new rotors on that i got and i just have a question. if my car is moving and i try to apply the e-brake it makes a really loud POP!. first off it doesnt work period but ive read up on that and know how to fix that problem...do you all think that when i fix that it will fix that pop also. has anyone ever had this problem before?? if so please please let me know. Thanks a lot!

don't pull your ebrake when moving.
Actually what I think it is is that we have floating rotors, ie they aren't bolted to anything. Granted there is pressure on them from the wheel's being bolted it's not enough for the rotors to not slightly move when the brake is applied. So the clunk your probably hearing is the rotor turning a bit till it hits your lugs.
So replacing your pads won't fix this, as the time I've pulled my ebrake will still barely moving it clunked also.

no that sounds about right and thats definately not good, so no more power sliding for you lol unless you want to break off your lug nuts, which would not be fun if you happen to be going 70 on an interstate or freeway

well i had tried power sliding but i noticed that and it bothered me....so i just wanted to find out....can anyone pull their e-brake while moving or does everyones do that??

No problems in the snow or ice but have only done it once on dry pavement and still no problems. Still not recomended, just have a heavier foot and swing the ass end around!

tryed pulling on e-brake, pavement, going about 20mph... got that pop also but everything else went normally.

Oddly enough I have a Honda as well. Just that this works better for winter traction and power slides. :thumb:
