Ok, it's time for me to build a custom sub box. I have 2 12" subs. What gives better sound quality, subs facing front of car, or facing trunk?? And what about having them inverted so i can see the coils?

It would be ideal to gain some trunk space, i was thinking of just having like a wall enclosure sealing off the trunk when the seats are down (4 door model) and having them in that, but i dont want to lose the sound quality that i get from my enclosed box.

Any pics would help too!!! Thanks. Here is my current setup, via my CarDomain (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/692137)page (only i have them facing the trunk)

My setup had better SQ with the subs facing the cab of the car. It was louder facing the back but I like SQ better.

Well the design with a wall for subs isnt just a wall and subs sticking through...really all a wall is justa way to neatly organize all the equipment. bewhind the wall are actual boxes built onto the wall..they are there because you cant see them...but yea dont just get a wall and put subs in it...wont do any good and for 2 12"s face them out toward the trunk...Its better quality and alot nicer to look at ;)

face subs toward rear of trunk.......if you're going competition and want SPL then run ported boxes (but ONLY if you port to the recommend specs of the subs)...otherwise sealed is the way to go....having them inverted vs. regular...there is no difference...sound the exact same...well I guess inverted you'll gain a little bit more airspace inside the box because there is no magnet; however, too much air space CAN be bad...
