I was finishing pinstriping a tail, and my dad walked in a threw a fit =/ He went on about how it is so illegal and i am going to get a ticket, and he will not inspect my car again and on and on. unfortunately, i had no choice but to rip it off, and felt bad as i had wasted my time and striping. so, i got creative in a "legal" way this time. yay or nay? what's your opinion?

You did a good job keeping everything straight and symmetrical, but the white sticks out too much and the pattern looks outta place. Try something else.

I'd have to say nay. But props for the creativness. Tell Pops that it's not illegal. I've had mine done for quite a while now and never had any problems with cops, even when I was driving in NC.

I have done told him it wasnt illegal, but he knows everything, you know. (according to himself) and i am not willing to give up free inspections and paid car insurance. (at least 'til i am out of college)
One benefit: I am the master pinstriper now =) I could draw intricate pictures with it, i swear. The pictures actually make it look a bit uneven b/c theyre downsized

I dont want them smoked, i like to keep my car bright as i am eventually developing a blue/white color theme. i might get some altezzas eventually though. im thinkin about it.. =)

you did a great job with them...but it might look way better in a color more similar to your car. i think it looks kind of weird only because it stands out so much.

My honest opinion is that it doesnt look very good on your color of car, but if it was a black car I think it might look pretty good honestly.

I dunno, I'll go against the grain here on this one: I like the pattern, but I'd go with another color maybe? I really dig the creativity, and I'm glad you had the ambition to go after it even after hearing crap from your dad.... :thumb:

I think the white is too much. Hmmm....maybe if u did something a little different and pick a color to the match the rest of the car might be nice. If you can do a photoshop first then do that.

altezzas might look good if you change the color of your car, right now the color wouldn't look good with altezzas..IMO..but it will look the way you want it.

Some parents just don't understand....i had the same problem but once they realized i was going to do it anyways they laid off. your pinstriping is actually very pro, colors not my taste, but hell its ur car, but i would color match it myself.

its not the best color match/quality of chop, but you get the idea...somethin like this would look alot better

hahaha, thing that cracks me up, is if I built a car EXACTLY like Travis99Alero's or SoundExtreme's, either one of them would still say "It looks like (insert profanity here)" so don't be too offended. If it wasn't their ideas it looks like crap to them, just do what makes you happy.

Thats not tru. Theres cars on here (1, maybe 2..lol) that they like that look nuthin like theirs.
U have to keep in mind this is a public forum, which means some people will actually have the balls to say exactly what they think. Dont hate, appreciate.
And onto the tails. "nay"

do you have anything else on your car that is crome? very good attention to detail on em!! i think it'll look a lot better in crome.......i think if you color matched your car, it would be hard to see....therefor making all your hard work not worth the outcome.
but where are you from.....i think someone mentioned you were from NC....don't even worry about the cops!! i've had mine done for a while now and have had cops tail me and not do a thing. and if you have ever been to Charlotte....all the cops there have sticks shoved up there @$$!!
check out my new tail light job.....just click on my cardomain link under my sig! lemme know what ya think!

No doubt? it's public? OMG and all this time..... Nothing against saying they dont like it, it's the WAY it's said.
as for the tails, I dont like that setup either, but I'm not gonna beat em over the head with a baseball bat so that they never wanna share their ideas again.
BlackJack's terminology 101 -
I like it - "Wow, that looks smokin...really hot"
I dont like it - "Not really what I care for, but roll with what you like" non-offensive, and still gets the message across.
instead of "that looks like @$$" or some other term that means the same as we think you're stupid and should throw yourself under a train.
Sounds like the three of yas were really appreciatin, and not hatin.

yes, well put. I asked for opinions, and everyone should express their opinions, i dont have a problem with it. And yes, i know pinstriping is not illegal but tell my dad that..he has that "i am never wrong" syndrome. men -_-" lol =) But the more subdued color does look nice. you cannot tell in the picture, but some of the edges are kind of rough, and i was thinking about redoing it to fix it, so i may change colors, we'll see. chrome would be nice, but it will not bend like the vinyl. those curves are tough enough to do as it is with the vinyl. That's my daddy's shop in the background, btw ;)

Some of you may not remember because it's been a while, but when smokinamd wrecked his car, his tails were busted out and kinda looked like the clears. His car was the same color as yours, pawz, and it looked pretty good. Granted, the lights weren't intact but you could get an idea as to what the car would look like with altezzas. Personally, I just don't think any light color pinstripe will look good on your car. But that's just my opinion, I'm not a big fan of the white/chrome colored pinstripe jobs. The altezzas that anderbra makes would look better on your car, or black stripes, but that's just me.
