ok what are your opinions on this? They have nitrous injection to assist in combustion resulting in more HP... they have stuff like the cryo co2 kits that cool intakes and intercoolers... well what about this... everyone want cold air intakes and getting more o2 to get into the air fuel mixture hypothetically would allow better combustion... well what if we could invent a spray of liquid oxygen straight into the intake... it would be supercooled and completely oxygen rich... is this feasable? obviously it's probably dangerous but it sounds like fun... any ideas or opinions?

:thumb: well yeah i would imagine that it risky as heck... worse than nitrous for sure... wich never makes any sense to me... oxygen assist is combustion sure but it isn't flamable.... and no it's not space shuttles... oxygen is easier to come by than nitrous... i just never heard of a perfected method... THAT'S IT!... my ticket to a million bucks! all i have to do is figure out how....

It's going to be hard to market this when you are picking pieces of your body up and trying to put them back together. First off, LOX is extremely flammable, the smallest spark will cause it to ignite. Second off, the expansion rate is like 800 to 1, so good luck on storing this on the car. Even on a remotely hot day, the storage tank will have to purge off most of the LOX in the container. Then you would have to find LOX storage containers which are extremely expensive. Trust me, I work with LOX on a regular basis, it's not something to be f-ed with.

/\ heehee lox (and liquid nitrogen) is fun to play with if there are bugs and stuff crawling around. Even better when you work the nightshift and there's no one around on the flight line to see you playing with it. :P
But ya, like flaalero said if you don't know what your doing don't mess with it. A small drip of it on your finger and instant frostburn likely resulting in you permanently loosing that digit.

Oh yes, LOX is fun, especially when you are working midshift and you have a hangover! Oh, and I've had frostbite on three fingers because my gloves weren't the kind they were supposed to be. First, it felt like it burned, then the skin blistered, then it turned purple and yellow, then, it finally healed.
