Ok So ive decided that for the interior of my car the theme is going to be Blue lights and black and like mettalic/chrome other things. So Im looking at painting my interior pieces this summer but am having trouble finding a metallic/chrome paint that isnt to expensive...and when i mean chrome I mean chrome...not like silver if ya know what i mean. I found soem actual dhrome paint but it costs like 400 per pint...I just want a look a like paint...and Help?
The reason I went with this theme is because I alreayd have 2 Blue neon tubes and I have changed my dome light to blue.my raido dials have a underglow of blue and the turn knobs are Chrome/metallic silver and my shift knob the same. :-D Gunna be BLINGIN

As far as i've ever seen... and heard... there is no "chrome paint"... the cap looks "true chrome" but the paint just winds up being silver... if there were chrome paint that actually turns things chrome... then there'd be no reason to charge people a bijillion dollars to dip things... the only "chrome" covering i can think of is vinyl... that is chrome stuff but it doesn't like to go around complex bends and the material you can apply it to is limited... if anyone else knows something i don't let me know

they make spray paint that is pretty shiney silver, but it isn't really chrome looking.
If you want a better finish, some companies do water transfer printing (that is how some of our members got CF and burlwood interiors.) I know some of them also can do a very shiney chrome-like finish with this process.
However, I don't think chrome interior pieces would be that great of an idea, simply because of the sun glare off the pieces. Imagine driving on a sunny day and getting all the glare off the parts directly into your eyes and whatnot.

Thats true, but i mean if the windows are tinted enough that shouldnt be a problem. Yea those crhome cars you saw up there are made with that paint I was talking about its like 1000$ for a galllon or something I dunno I just know i cant afford it. :-P lol
Hmm Well Im determined to do this, So that process you were talking about...how much do they charge for it? Theres a chrome plating place here that dips but I REALLY dont wanna spend that for chrome. Ill figure somethin out

Listen to the boss...i think it might look cool for a while but then it will get annoying. You would get a sun tan by just sitting in your car.

i used to work at a factory that painted the inside of headlight housings. as we all know, that is a nice chrome finish. the paint we used was expensinve, but you need something with silver nitrate in it. thats the expensive part. but it might help you locate what you need at a lower price somewhere actually knowing whats in it. good luck. and if you find anything reasonable, im sure there are alot of people here that would like to know where you find it.
