Redog And Daytona Head To The Track (part 5)

OK in just 8 hours we will be going to the track. I have that new ASE chip in the car, but it just brought on my SES light :glare: I know it's the heater circut for one Sensor 1 bank 1. It doesn't come on with the stock PCM so I know it's not the circut. D'ohh is all I can say.

Anyway I think the car will run good with it so it could be a track swap out part. With the way it shifts it should be cool. Damn Cali emissions :angry:

Anyway 14's is always a possibly and if Daytona can fix his "1" maybe he'll run faster.

Ask Daytona to fix his 1. Corey and I will get a big kick out of that :lol:

I had the same problem Redog, thats why i had to send my original pcm to DHP for reprogramming, i tried 2 different ones before i sent mine in.

Luck wasn't smiling on us yesterday. Ken went out first round (I'll let him explain) and I went out 3rd round.

I had gotten past 2 other points racers and taken sole possession of 5th place in the overall points standings (started the day in a 3-way tie for 5th) and was closing in on 4th. Was cutting good lights all day. Then I raced against the son or grandson of one of the more experienced local racers. He was getting tips from my arch-rival Brian Mullaney and they seemed to have paid off. We both wanted right lane so I had Brian do the coin toss and the kid won so I moved over to left lane. I had an okay light (.055 - slowest of my eliminator lights but good considering I wasn't used to running left lane anymore) and he left the line just moments later and stayed in my blind spot most of the way down. He started to move up on me near the finish line and I had trouble judging the finish line from that side and if I should tap the brakes or not. I held the pedal down and beat him by just over .02 seconds, only to lose due to a .007-second break-out. :(

Funny thing is, I had raised my dial at the last second just before round 2 by .01 seconds due to the car running a little warm and left that new dial on the car for round 3. Had I just left well enough alone, I would have won 3rd round. :( :( :(

Brian later passed me to take 5th place dropping me to 6th. There was an outside chance I could have dropped to 7th place if Focarino got to the final round, but most likely I'm still in 6th. What hurts even more is the fact that I am now 1 1/2 days worth of racing out of 1st place. I have to be even more solid these next 2-3 months to have a shot at finishing in the money and going to the Bracket Finals at the end of the season, much less taking the points title.

In Street ET class:
Top 8 get jackets
Top 5 go to Bracket Finals
Top 4 get end-of-year bonus money
Top 1 wins the Track Points Title for Street ET

Still, 6th place qualifies me to race in next Saturday's "30th Annual Snap-On Tools NIGHT OF THRILLS". The top bracket racers from each class race a special eliminator in between each of the special show classes (monster trucks, jet cars, TF/D, etc.) to minimize downtime. Some of the guys from Orange County Choppers are supposed to be there, too.

UHGGGG 1st round!!!!!!

I did go up against a very good points leader. My car fell off it's dail by a lot. I dailed at 15.23 and it ran 15.30 :o

I had a 100 r/t, which isn't too bad for me but the other guy I thought I beat him at first. It was close :o I was hoping he broke out. He ran 13.02 on a 12.94 dial. If I would have ran my dial, I would have won :angry:

MAybe I didn't set at 2000 RPM's or the car didn't run it. I don't know.

June 12th awaits :glare:
