i know nothing at all about motors, tranny's etc. But one question. Accelerating on the gas going from first TO second it shifts like crazy, hard or slipping, i dunno. Is this how anybody elses 4cyl runs??? what can i do cuz' it's getting annoying. I wish I had at least a 6cyl :(

YEA!! my 4 cyl can shift roughly at times.. i have adapted to it and i let off the gas a bit as shifting time approaches if i'm accelerating hard, and it shifts smoothly. My dad says it shifts late.. he would like to change it but that would probably involve messing with the computer and stuff. It was just factory programmed to shift at that point, and unfortunately it is late..

cool at least now I know i'm not the only one and it doesn't sound like a major problem. Hopefully doing some performance mods will maybe help the situation out a little better :thumb:

hard shifting in the autos I believe is good. It means that there is less wear going on in the tranny, since the cluthes are engaging faster so less slipping.

right you are, fast eddie. quicker and harder shifts also decrease the amount of heat produced, and excessive heat will kill a tranny quicker than you can say "heat will kill a tranny". that's why B&M invented the shift plus, to make shifts quicker and harder, for better acceleration and less wear on the tranny. the autotrans interceptor does the same thing also.
