Good to know Greg is doing better than this morning. That is a relief.

36! I thought I was doing good! I was in the 32-35mpg range on the way home. I filled up about 300 miles from home and had a quarter tank left.

i had an awesome time!!!, i had a last minute brain spark, and tried to do a lil alero video, but we didnt have anyone there with a truck, or similar, so i ended up sitting in the trunk of stockaleros car, and got smacked in the head, but except for that part, the vid turned out somewhat ok, but the sound quality sux big time...it will take some time for me to get a copy made and sent out to joel so he can work his magic, so be patient....ill post up some pics tomorrow...........................

Next year i want to bring some good old fireworks, and have a just start blasting them off.

On the way back, I missed the 1-80 exit, because i kept looking in the back to make sure the trailer wasn't having any problems. Then I lost site of most of you guys. Till I seen scott exit a ramp and i'm like crap. There's my exit. But I was ok, I took 294, paid the damn 80 cent toll instead of 60 cents. But no problems cause I just got off the 159th exit and took that all the way home. Although I hope i make it to the gas station this morning, because when i pulled in, i was on empty. But I didn't care, because I wasn't going to leave the caravan behind till it was my time to get off.

we stopped at an oasis for gas...but bcuz the uhaul is considered a truck that runs on normal gas...gregg couldnt get near the regular pumps so we had to go through the truck area. WHAT A MESS, we waited til WI to gas up.

We parked in the semi parking, so we could go to the bathroom. When we came out, there were 2 truckers looking at my car trying to figure out what it was. When i told them, they were like wow, so much stuff on it couldnt recognize it. As we were leaving I overheard the one we were talking to say "wow, he so low I dont think he gets over to many bumps".

Between the rubberneckers and the truckers. pretty decent trip back home.

not all Ohio drivers were idiots though. the ones that pissed me off were the ones going 55 in a 65 zone in the fast lane.

Greg, it wasn't late for me. If you or anyone couldnt have left out of Michigan till really late at night, I would still have stayed and drove most the way back , till I got off at 1-80. When things like this happen we should stick together. And I think next year anyone coming from the 1-80 direction or the illinois/wisconsin people should convoy to michigan and back home. Just so we know everyone had a safe trip home.

It was a good ride for me. We stopped in North Lima Ohio for fireworks, but Linda had to pee sooooooo many times, and she did half the driving in her eyes. I drove 11 hours and she drove 2

I pushed my fuel to the all time low. I saw a sign that said "next rest stop 36 miles" which would put it at mile marker 303, but it was more like mile 324. No problem I figured no problem, but then a traffic jam. I was like "O poop" but I made it. The light came on at MM 318. I put $30 of gas in the car, which was another first. I did get 33 MPG :thumb:

In the usually way of a PA traffic jam, there was no reason of the traffic jam. Just a bunch of cars going 20 in a 65 :glare:

StockAlero00
06-20-2005, 11:07 PM
i just seriously hate that crap. 80/94 wouldnt be bad, if people would just do the 45 mph speed limit in the construction zone. Instead people have to be slow and be retarded and doing like 7 mph. Come on it just construction, nothing like u haven't seen before!!!

Redog
06-20-2005, 11:29 PM

I actually did attempt to fix the rust on my hood. It's not professional....but it's temporary, will keep (hopefully) from rusting more. And at least it's not noticeable anymore. At least i wont' here....Wow would u look at that rust stain...or is that bird crap? my attempt included, sanding away the rust, then, masked off the areas i didnt want painted....sprayed this rust-eloeum poop, with a primer with it. Then i bought some car touch up pain in the can. Lol i just grabbed a red that looked closet to my color. Till I got home I realized it was for an import red. It actually matches up pretty well. you should have just sanded it down really good. went to a local paint shop and got some primer sealer, a little bottle of touchup paint matched to your color. and a little bottle of touchup clear coat.

sand it down, 1 coat of primer sealer should do, 2 coats of color probably, and 1 or 2 coats of clear(enough to get it "bubbled" above the rest of the stock paint). let dry. wet sand with 1500 grit sand paper. buff. polish. you'd probably never notice

If I had money it'd be fixed by now. I'm thinking about just getting a new hood if I ever get a job. Those cowls look a lot better in person.

how much are those cowl hoods anyways. I was thinking the same thing just getting one of those hoods. But i'm sure I'd have to sit there and paint that thing too....

Fiberglass is $625, plus you have to get the big ass heavy thing shipped to you. And you really shouldn't paint that yourself. Touchup you can do, but there's no way you'd get a whole hood to look alright. Pay a body shop a hundred bucks to do it right.
