View Full Version : Led Underbodies

OK I got a set of LED red underbodies for the Alero but I'm not too sure where to put the side bars

I see a good spot to mount the front, didn't look at the rear too much, but the sides I don't know.

I think the rails for the jack are too far in to put them behind it (with the fuel lines right there)

I was thinking I could screw them into the side skirts maybe about 3 inches or so outside the jack rails but I don't know.

I would like to hear suggestions on where they can fit in at. Daytime under cars pics are good too, if anybody has them.

if u put them outside of the pinch weld(closest to door) u will see them from afar.....this is not good. (I made this mistake, ax silent, lol) U want them behind the pinch weld.

What about the fuel lines?

I don't want them to be seen unless lit :)

Did you drill into the body to mount? If so, any rust?

ya I drilled into the body. And i also used the cheap ass self tapperz that came with it. My car never see's salt...or even rain for that matter so i wasnt too worried. But yes, mine are very prone to rust.

I reccomend zip ties if u can. If not, just go to ur local hardware store and buy Stainless steel self tapperz to replace the crap ones the give you.

I didn't know where else to put mine and no one ever answered when I asked. Mine are just right up against the little lip. They aren't visible unless you're really far away and only from the side, not front or back.

Pimp, you have a kit now, so it prolly wouldn't help if you posted a pic, would it? Is it all different under there now? Some of the hangers are breaking on mine so if I have to mess with em again, i might as well move em so you can't see em at all.

actually I dont have any pix of them. Tons of others will tho. I put my back one at the very end of the resessed part for the spare tire. That way the distance between the front, back, and sides was proportional. Wait.....did that make sence...?? I mean equal distance, u kno

Ok.. yeah, I have mine on the outside of that lip. I think if I remember right, we didn't have anything to drill thru metal, so we went with the plastic. I'll have to move them sometime.. I think I like it better inside.

yea run it inside the pinch welds..on the fuel rail side, just take small chunks outta the triangle that holds the fuel rails, youll be ok just dont hit the lines....you gotta be pretty dumb if you actually do but itll fit in a bit tighter, then on the back where the pinch weld cuts in a little for the jack, either you can cover that, or put electric tape on that exact part of the tube so its not showing.

I have a couple pictures. I have two kits. All around I didn't have any problems,
except for the driver's side with the fuel rails. One of the tubes hung down a little at the fuel rail ends. Though, this picture is of the passenger side.

Here's one of the front tubes

Last one, the back. I had tons of room without the factory exhaust being there.

I have one tube mounted under the rear bumper, and the other you can easily see
on the spare tire well.

OK Cool, thanks y'all.

I wanted to use zip ties anyway, they really are the best thing to use.

ANd Cocoa answered the next question. Will the mounting be in the way of the jack rails?

You should be fine. If you bring your car in for service be sure to let them know that they're there.

I was a little worried about this, because I purchased a kit a year ago and was going to put it on my old car, but that didn't pan out, and so when I got my Alero I thought what the hell...it's kind of a relief to know that there are still some people out there with neon kits...thanks guys
