Well since there isnt an international section *ahem* :)
Ill put this in OT.
I think that this post will only apply to 3 people but it'll make planning a lot easier than PM's all over the place. Maybe some other members from the EU pop up as well.
I found this place online, its cheap and it looks pretty interesting. I know that i told Ronin to look at some places but so far this is OK. Maybe since Maverik is in Vienna he might have some input,
Camping Kasern, Salzburg, Austria (http://reservations.bookhostels.com/guideforeurope.com/hostel.php?HostelNumber=708)
Driving Directions (http://reservations.bookhostels.com/guideforeurope.com/mapdirections.php?HostelNumber=708) Pretty easy to find as well.
Also found this one, man Europe is beautyfulCamping-Vierthaler (http://www.camping-vierthaler.at)
;)
Also when would be the best time for you guys? Im OK with any weekend. In two weeks im in Bosnia for work but after that im free. Its only a 400km trip so 4 hours "normal" driving is needed for all of us, maybe a little less for Maverik.
Lets try to make this happen, it'll be a first..... :yahoo:

Moving to the INTERNATIONAL FORUM (http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?showforum=46)!!!! ;)
we actually had one a long time ago, but we didn't have any international members and got rid of it. Seeing as yall are continuing to grow, we'll here yall go your own section.

06-28-2005, 04:48 AM
Great idea! Nice places but I'll also look for some. In holidays it's better to have alternatives. The best time for me would be the weekend about 23.7./24.7. or in August the weekend about 6.8./7.8. or 27.8./28.8. :steeringwheel:

i like this one btw :)
http://www.campsite.at/Dienste_D_SBGL/camp...en&ST=PS&SEE=ON (http://www.campsite.at/Dienste_D_SBGL/camping_info.asp?ID=182&MASK=xx%2Exx%2E02%2Exx%2Exx&STYLE=sbgl&B1=Campingpl%E4tze+suchen&ST=PS&SEE=ON)
it's called "camping perwang" - its directly to a lake
Crolero
06-29-2005, 04:19 PM
so i guess that the 6th or 7th of august would be a set date then? The 5th of august is a holiday here so i have that day off. I wouldnt mind gettin up there a little earlier. Still have to check cause i should be moving into my new apt the 31st of july.
So what you guys think? 5th 6th 7th good for you?
RoninKouga
06-30-2005, 01:07 AM
approved :)
btw: i think if i work hard that week i will be able to drop the friday too.
maverick81
06-30-2005, 03:44 AM
Approved too. I have the friday off. :)
Do you guys want camping or staying in a hotel or the like?
RoninKouga
06-30-2005, 05:59 AM
either sounds good to me... but i think camping 'd be more fun coz of bbq and stuff :)
Crolero
06-30-2005, 04:38 PM
Definately a camp site. more to do there than just a hotel room. :)
Plus i dont know about you guys but i really need to get out of the city and get away from the traffic and noise
maverick81
07-01-2005, 04:21 AM
Alright, I'm also thinking that we'll have more fun at a campsite.
So I will look for some alternative campsites out of the city but Crolero's proposals are nice.
RoninKouga
07-01-2005, 06:07 AM
if you find something next to a river or a lake i'd be great if there is.. :)
Crolero
07-01-2005, 05:23 PM
Id like to get a place where we can be next to the alero's. Dont feal like having to park them far away, other than that it dosent matter too me.
Ive gotten some directions off of maps24.de and im going to need a little help in the translation. Im using the bablefish option of altavista. if i have any trouble ill be asking you guys. ;)

I've found a lake-side camping site and it's only 20 minutes away of the town Salzburg.

RoninKouga
07-04-2005, 11:01 AM
i like it!
since it may be the main season, should we better book in advance? i think we only need 1 pew for 3 cars and 3 tents... if our french friend is interested to come we'll surely need 2 i presume.
maverick81
07-04-2005, 11:45 AM
I think it's a good idea to book in advance.

can we put you in charge of that? if you have to pay in advance just tell me ill transfer it.
maverick81
07-04-2005, 01:46 PM
I can do it. I think we don't have to prepay but I'll ask if Crolero like this one too.
RoninKouga
07-04-2005, 02:50 PM
yeah, needless to say that the final decision is up to cro, since it was his idea :)
Crolero
07-04-2005, 02:56 PM
Well guys, since i cant read half of that i'll say sure why not
So how much $$ are we looking at per person?
maverick81
07-05-2005, 11:03 AM
I compared the prices of the campsites...
All prices per night
1) http://www.seecampwallersee.at
$9.60 for unit + $8.35 per person
--> $11.55 p.p.
2) http://www.camping-vierthaler.at
$17.16 for unit + $5.13 per person
--> $10.85 p.p.
3) http://www.camping-kasern-salzburg.com/
$21.48 for unit +$5.96 per person
--> $13.12 p.p.
4) http://www.campingaigen.com/
$16.45 for unit + $5.72 per person
--> $11.21 p.p.
I hope everything is correct. If you want I'll make a reservation when we've a favorite one.
RoninKouga
07-05-2005, 11:56 AM
by the way mave, if i remember right.. you gotta pay toll for some austrian roads. i have one for swiss, but not for austria, can you figure out what the cheapest oder best way to salzburg is, starting from basel? im kinda clueless in austria things..
Crolero
07-05-2005, 12:33 PM
so about $50.00, sounds good too me!
Yea how much are the vinetta (sp?) again? I know that you dont have to get them but if the police find you your screwed :)
I think that you can get them at the boarder crossing, right mav?
maverick81
07-05-2005, 01:49 PM
Freeway toll is $9 for 10 days and you get it at a gas station. I think it's better to have one because in summer holidays the police check heightened. Ronin I'll check a route over national highways.
Which campsite is your favorite?
Crolero
07-05-2005, 01:57 PM
www.camping-vierthaler.at
I like this one, it looks a bit more peaceful and quiet. Can we park our cars outside the tents at this place?
RoninKouga
07-05-2005, 01:57 PM
i think i like the first best
RoninKouga
07-05-2005, 01:59 PM
lol we nearlly posted in the same sec, cro :)
i think a "too" quiet site is not as good, or?
Crolero
07-05-2005, 02:03 PM
lol, yea almost Alex,
Well im ok with anything that we can park the aleros next too, thats better put. :)
RoninKouga
07-05-2005, 02:05 PM
:D and if we dun like it we take the next :)
Crolero
07-05-2005, 02:39 PM
Might be a good idea to make reservations as soon as we decide on which place. So when do you guys want to get up there? Im thinking since were paying for the entire day on friday we get there about noon? That is if you guys are free...
Maybe meet somewhere by the highway exit? Maybe a gas station?
RoninKouga
07-05-2005, 02:43 PM
i think noon is ok with me :)
Crolero
07-05-2005, 02:48 PM
i think it'll be a good idea to exchange mobile numbers as well before we leave. Just in case someone (me) gets lost
RoninKouga
07-05-2005, 02:52 PM
its a good idea, i pm'd you mine. cro, there is something i just remembered, you are supposed to have a warn signal jacket in your glove box in austria i think
Crolero
07-05-2005, 03:12 PM
I know that the Slovenians are gonna give me hell for all that stuff at the boarder. Ive gotten the first aid kit and the triangle. Ill pick that jacket up in the next few weeks.
Thanks for the tip Alex. :thumb:
maverick81
07-06-2005, 10:23 AM
You both had a long conversation yesterday, a lot to work up for me...
My favorite is www.seecampwallersee.at because I hope the weather will be great and so we can cool down in the lake.
...noon is a good time
Summary of important things for Austria:
- first aid kit
- signal jacket
- warning triangle
- vignette (it's more easier and faster to use the highway)
Today I've contacted seecampwallersee if we can park the cars next to the tents but I'm awaiting the reply.
And last but not least I send you a pm with my mobile number.
RoninKouga
07-06-2005, 11:01 AM
thank you for your work maverick !! :)
maverick81
07-06-2005, 11:44 AM
I've got a reply from seecampwallersee. We have to park the cars separate, about 10metres away from tent.
Will we take it nevertheless or should I ask at camping-vierthaler?
RoninKouga
07-06-2005, 01:04 PM
mah too bad. id love to have te ho there that we can check everytime we got an idea what may be different from us alero to eur alero..
its an alero meet after all, or? :D
Crolero
07-06-2005, 01:07 PM
Yea Mav nice work. I think we can live with the cars being 10 meters away. :) That means that we can park 5 meters without anyone noticing :hide:
Just wondering what type of "tent" is this? All together or per person? How big is it?
RoninKouga
07-06-2005, 01:09 PM
i have 2 tents in my trunk in summer seasons just in case :)
Crolero
07-06-2005, 01:13 PM
If its a big tent then id rather bring the air bed :) hehehehe

one week and a lil to go..
so lets get it on!
what do we need.. i can provide a grill now and 3 camping chairs. sum small table d'be great. and a propane operated camping light.. can s/o of u provide?
some ideas ewhat we'll need more?
i'm lookin forward to the meet :beerchug:
Crolero
07-26-2005, 03:39 PM
yea i cant wait. I hope that some stuff i ordered get here by this saterday. Have a lot of things i want to get done before the meet.
a deck of cards would be great as well, im guessing that we can get food in salzburg, everyone should bring some local beer. Im going to try but not sure what'll happen at the border. What else do you guys think that we'll need? Make a list maybe...?
RoninKouga
07-26-2005, 04:22 PM
list, maybe a good idea. i just remembered i have those - i can bring some plasics plates and forks&knives for the bbq ;)
peter, can u organize some of the mentioned items maybe?
Crolero
07-26-2005, 04:28 PM
sure no problem, ill get some plates and stuff just tell me what needs to be brought and consider it done. ;)
maverick81
07-28-2005, 09:02 AM
I think my parents have a table and chairs. On weekend I'll look there for everything what we can need. Okay, I bring some local beer. I think it's the easiest way to buy the food in Salzburg.
Crolero
07-28-2005, 02:32 PM
That would be great if you can get the table and chairs.
We are gonna need a place to meet up at. I think that it would be a good idea to meet at a tankschtel (sp?) maybe on the highway? Ill check the route for anything thats close to the exit. Or do we all have differant exits if we are comming from 3 differant directions...? me confused.
maverick81
07-28-2005, 02:52 PM
I'll also check my route but I think we'll have same exit whatever we're comming from.
Crolero
07-28-2005, 03:20 PM
yea its on the A10 but there isnt anything till you get off the highway. If i've got the right map theres a "IQ Diskont" a few km after the exit.
RoninKouga
07-28-2005, 03:38 PM
hi there i have been a little absent from the net last days. i'm glad here its turning out very well d_(^-^)_b
the meeting up place is a very good idea since i dont know if my navigation software arrives until friday. im happy to tell that i came quite far with my current projects due an all nighter i pulled, so i can take the complete friday off !!!! hehhee
so i think the one thing that's left handy to have is a gas operated lamp, can some one provide? by the way i think i can bring 2 tents and i found a nice piknick set with plates and forks and knifes and stuff and the grill is allready prepared :)
so now we gotta find a place to meet up - i dont think it'd be too bat if we'd meet at the camping site though. i think we should discuss that when i (maybe) get my austrian map then i can calculate a route. what do you think?
Crolero
07-28-2005, 03:48 PM
Alex i think i saw one of those in bauhaus the other day ill look around for one.
Im going to belgrade on sunday and will be back on wed. so any plans you guys can make and i'll be okay with them.
I will plan on leaving from Zagreb around 10am that means that im at Salzburg around 2-3pm. This ok with everyone?
as im looking at the map online its not that far from the exit, maybe just meet up in the parking lot then....?
maverick81
07-29-2005, 10:32 AM
I'd also propose that we meet up at the parking lot of the camping site because it's only a few metres after the Iq Diskont.
The time is ok for me, 2-3pm.
RoninKouga
08-02-2005, 11:01 AM
agreed.
my all european navi map will not arrive this week ;_; and, i also got some serious issues w/ my computer. so don't worry bout postin me as few. i'm still fired up to the meet *hehehe*
