HU with no sub-outs question

Forgive me for i have very little knowledge about car audio but im trying to learn, i had a stock HU before and had subs and an amp all wired up, they ran the remote wire and everything and all was good, i got rid of my system and got a new head unit, Recently i just bought a new system and stuffed it in my trunk, there is a rockford fosgate amp on it and 4 subs run to two channels then on the other side there is the spot for the power wire the spot for the ground and then there seems to be a small spot for the remote wire, but what confuses me is i have to connect a small wire from the remote straight to the power if i want the subs to work?? anyways i have 4 RCA slots in the back of my head unit two front and two rear, i have a tv hooked up to one set and then i put RCA cables for the system in the other set, first im wondering if this will work or what i have to do to fix it, and my second question being is there anything similar to like sub outs so i can change the bass without only having +-7 on my headunit or manually adjusting the amp?

I have a rockford fosgate amp and an alpine HU the alpine head unit is an older one its double din with the cd changer capabilities
