Reading the owners manual on my 99 it stated the car will actually tell u when u need a change. I personally don't go by that and change it on my own but just out of curiosity who waits untill the light comes on to change oil.
And i love the Fram X2 and the sure drain time saver!!!

My light always comes on between 5-6k miles. I usually change around 5500. so sometimes it comes on sometimes it doesn't.

I'm using Mobil 1 synthetic.

I jsut installed the SureDrain at my last oil change, so I haven't used it yet.
But it looks fast, and mess free.

Sure drain is easier but takes a little longer to drain than usual, due to the restricted size of the opening.

My light only comes on when I forget to reset it at an oil change. I change it right around 3,000 miles though, so it doesn't have a chance to come on. It just comes on after so long, either mileage or hours, but if you aren't using synthetic and it comes on, you need to change it asap.

Oil lasts a lot longer than everyone has been lead to believe.
Look at the recommended oil change schedule in the owners manual.

I don't remember exactly what it says but I believe it was 6500 or 7500 miles.

Or somewhere around there.

Unless your driving your alero in the Sahara all day long. B)

yeah, i usually change mine every 3,000-3,500 miles, so the light hardly ever comes on, unless i don't reset it.

Yeah, I know. I just like to think of it as cheap insurance. The $6 is a good deal for not worrying about it.
