I need some major advice. I love my Alero, but lately it's been giving me problems. About two months ago, my car wouldn't start. Thought it was a battery problem, but found it had something to do with the ignition module. I eventually took the car to the repair shop and they replaced the ignition module. The repair guys told me there was only a 60 day warranty on the replaced module. Now it won't turn over again. I'm hoping they're not shamming me, but it's a crazy coincidence. But I really think it's the module. They didn't charge me that much and they ordered the part. Now, I want to see where I can order a good module at a decent price so this doesn't happen too soon. Can anyone help me? :(

does it sound like its trying to turn over, like do u hear the starter, or is it just completly dead? I had problems like this. First it was my fuel pump, then the ignition switch. I have another ignition switch lying around if you need one.

Yeah, it tries to turn over. The fuel pump is working so it's not the fuel pump. How much are you selling for the ignition switch.
Does it just click when it tries to turn over? ....
also check the connections on the starter, and check your coils and boots for any corrosion....

nothing on the radio. If you put the key in and turn it to on, don't start it, the security light should stay on solid. If it starts blinking, after like 10 secs, you need to reset it per the instructions in the manual......leave the key in the on pos. for 10min, until the light stays constantly illuminated, then turn it to off. Then the car should start.

Sounds like what my old car would do, it needed a ignition and it kept setting off the security light.
