Got a pretty good shake on the brakes shuttin down hard from 50-60mph.

Is it common for the stock disks to warp.

Very very common. Get Brembos, or some other better aftermarket, or it'll just happen again. Trust me.

I have Powerslots. They're cool. I'm getting rears for my birthday

GM OEM rotors are garbage but on the plus side Ford's rotors are worst

I'm on my second set of brakes and they've warpped after only 8,000 miles ...DAMN YOU GM!!!!!!!!!

I'm still on all factory original brake parts. Nothing ever replaced. Rotors never turned and I have 52,000 miles on the car with no problems.

I replaced my front rotors with the Brembo factory replacement rotors (not the slotted type), and still have had warpage issues. I noticed though, my rear pads are like new with about 50,000 miles on them. I wonder if GM set up the porportion valve setup to put too little braking power to the rear and the front is doing extra work. I know it wouldn't be intentional, but mabey it just worked out like that.

that could be a possibility...although our brakes weren't made for high speed braking....and I do a lot of that because I do a lot of racing at the track and the street....

I'll second that!!! I've resurfaced mine about 3 times on set of rotors.
Now they're at the discard measurements (point of being too thin).
Even for normal driving they'll warp out, even if you baby them! :pissed:
If I knew slotted rotors will cure the problem for sure, I'd go for it.

If your warping brakes like that maybe its time to envest in a big brake kit of some sort... that an adjustable bias valve... that will solve the issues... stock braking systems have a 70/30 bias usually or somewhere near that... not good for the track.. but good when you drive like grandma... :P :D lol

Mine are starting to warp too... have 35700 on the car.

Learn to drive and look ahead, OR don't do so much freeway driving, OR learn to drive.

And don't touch the brake.

my rotors are shot and they are brand new (i use them) and for resurfin them i ve heard ur better of buying new or just the pads on and go

or u could check and see if u and get a weight put on ur rotor (got it of power block)
