hey guys i was thinking about what an alero would look like with a boser hood like the VW's have.

offcourse if this hood were ever possible, it would all be custom along with the fenders to match.

BTW i did this with paint, cause im too poor for photoshop.

heres what it should look like:

thats a lot better, now it looks pissy!

now just add the HID projectors and some angel eyes and your set.

so is it possible to get this done at a body shop?

or do i have to modify the lever that allows you to open the hood?

FormulaNERD

it's very possible to get done, and you can use all the stock hood latch, etc, you just might have to squeeze your hand in a little more to open the hood.

a quick little photoshop....

friggen sweet thats what i'd like. but it seems like you kinda cut the headlights

FormulaNERD
07-16-2005, 04:37 PM
headlights are just tucked under the hood, the "cut" was just me adding shadow to where the hood meets.

for those that like the sleepy look...not my cup of tea.

here you go, a little less agressive, and you dont have to modify the fenders, and your headlights will still come out :)

my post deleted itself!

anyways, nice hood

There was no additional text. It was just a quote of vtolds post and pic with out the quote tags. ;) ~grouch

yes but i took his pic and removed the curve that went over the part between the headlights :P

hmm this isnt a bad idea, i kinda like it.....

ok ok, if crazytaxi will donate a fiberglass cowl hood i shall add on the pieces and take pics, lol ....once i get bondo and sandpaper that is :alcoholic:

FormulaNERD

lmao... good luck with that one :)

-Alero-
07-17-2005, 04:03 AM
yeah, im sure this will be on my to buy list, but im not too sure the hood would look to good with all stock body components. a bodykit would accent very well with this hood.

Silentalero
07-17-2005, 04:14 AM
now realisticly i could make one of these within a day or 2 because its very small molding involved, problem being is we dont have pure fiberglass stock replacement hoods, and my hood from crazitaxi is gonna be true c/f

-Alero-

use the stock hood, and add metal too it. mold sand paint done

holly crap! not aw! where did yo uget that! i was wanting one of thsoe months ago when i had the money.

you couldnt turn that carbon fiber hood into the boser could you?

FormulaNERD
07-17-2005, 02:03 PM
no, he couldnt. and i dont think anyone could.... the carbon fiber process is completely different than that of any other type of material, and i dont think you'd have much luck attaching anything to it. but hey, im no expert.

and alero is right... the majority of boser hoods are metal extensions welded onto a stock hood, then smoothed and filled.

sweet, i can finally add to my posts without the stupid edited line. nice feature niach.

it is one of the old ones that were first made for the aleros, 1 of 3 or 4 i think, anyways, yeah it flew off my car, i claimed insurance on it, but it is still good, i just need to do a little bit of fiberglass work, sand, paint and voila, lightweight cf hood, seriously though, this hood is for anybody that really wants to drop weight, it is a single carbon fiber sheet, no underbracing, if installed correctly it won't rattle or move at all but the damn thing weighs like 5 lbs..........if either of you are really interested pm me and we can talk..........***BTW - i'll let it go pretty cheap by the way as i need cash for my turbo project***
