Unfortunately, I cracked the innter brace that gives structure to the bumper in a traffic bump (not a fender bender) The headlights fasten to the bottom of it, and I found these parts at a website parts train (http://www.partstrain.com/products/Bumper_(Front)/2003~OLDSMOBILE~ALERO.html) Would you call it a reinforcement, upper cover retainer, or tie bar upper reinforcement retainer?
Head lights shimmy a bit due to not having that upper support. I'm kinda leaning away from the tiebar upper reinforcemant. It's hard to see from the pictures, seeing how those are not installed, and mine is.
If you're good with this stuff help me out if you can :)
Much appreciated

Well, If it's the part that the headlights clip into then it is the Header Panel (http://www.partstrain.com/products/Header_Panel/2003~OLDSMOBILE~ALERO.html). If it is the piece behind the bumper cover, then it is the bumper reinforcement (which I have laying around if you need one.) If you need parts call up these guys, I got my stuff from them when I got in an accident earlier this year. VERY inexpensive, and not too far away.

sounds like header panel, bud. if it's the piece that the headlights connect to and it runs around the hood release, kind of grey in color.

I think we're speaking of the same thing. It has the warning/AVIS label (in blue) letting you know not to lift under the oil pan :P
the headlights fasten to it. and it does go under the hood latch. Looks like it connects or is the same piece behind the bumper. I'll have to see when I take it out. Repainting my bumper because I have a small crack near the headlight. Scuffed paint, and holes from the front license plate.
How inexpensive would you say? That website I posted didn't seem to pad.
