Not so sure if I like having Lindros. Let's hope he doesn't get hit in the head!! Allison and O'Neil are great additions I.M.O
ptrudel
08-18-2005, 08:17 AM
yep...i was NOT impressed when i woke up to hearing about the Lindros trade....he'll play 3 games max...get hit in the head, get a concussion, and be on the injured list to come back just in time to get f***ed up again in the playoffs...i hate lindros
mixmastercase
08-19-2005, 09:16 AM
I'm a Leafs fan and I think that the gamble on signing Lindros was a good one. Before his las concussion he had like 32 points in 39 games. And he wants to play in Toronto so he should be motivated and it's only costing the leafs 1.5 million which isn't too bad really. But we'll see I hope he stays healthy.

08-22-2005, 12:13 PM
All that aside... I'm still wondering about the strength between the pipes... what in the world are the Leafs going to do about goal keeps?

08-22-2005, 12:30 PM
welp....if they plan on keepin big bad belfour...we need a WAY better back up then kidd was it? i HATED that guy...telqvist tho, he was good for a "rookie"...
IMHO, gotta get rid of belfour...he WAS good, but now with the salary cap, its no time to be spendin big bucks on an old guy that'll spend lots of game time on the injured list....we all know his back is basically no more good for this, so why keep paying him??

Yeah I cant wait for the season to start. Im going to a preseason game on the 23rd against Aneheim. Should be good.
I as well broke down and ordered the NHL Network along with all the sportsnet stations. So I should be watching quite a bit of hockey this year.
Oh, and for all of you who live relatively close to Vancouver, I will be running auctions for Canucks tix all season. The seats are in the lower bowel near the canuscks bench. The view is awsome! If anyone is interested let me know. Ill make sure to post each auction.

^ All canucks games will be blacked out for you, but atleast you will get the other team's games.
Me, I've got seasons tickets so I have 45 games plus playoffs to attend this year :D
I also spent $1000 in extra tickets so I can bring the gf to some games.

wheres the best place to buy tickets and not get raped on price/ripped off by fakes? i wanna go to a leafs game or two, but dunno where to look...other then right there...

^^ I have every Sportsnet channel including pacific, which will be showing a majority of Canucks games. TSN, CBC and Canucks pay perview will cover the rest. So I dont think I will be missing any games.
And I have Season tix too! and I have 2 seats not one......

I forgot you bastards have 82 games on TV this year. Calgary has the worst contract in the league by far, only 50 some. After last year that is rediculous, the whole season is already sold out, they should have every game on TV. Even the oil have 70 something.

I am not a big Sens fan, but I am extremely happy with the trades they have made in the past few weeks. Unfortunately Toronto is not going to be much hell this year..........BOOOHOOO! Most of their best players are gone, and some of the new might have issues if they get sneezed on. I can't wait until Thornton gets ahold of Lindros! Go Bruins Go!

Must be nice living in Canadanananda right now and waiting for the 1st puck to drop. Here in Jersey I'm still not too excited about opening night. The lockout was the last in a long line of straws for me and I've gone from a diehard fan to an "eh, whatever" fan. Joined the Aleromod hockey league hoping it'll respark something for me. Watching the Rangers-Devils game the other night didn't do it for me and that's always been a must-see match-up here in the NY metro area.
And I'm seeing a Calgary vs. ???? Cup Final with the strong possibility it'll be all Canada in the Cup.

Daytona, you have no idea how strange it is as a Flames fan who started watchign hockey at the very beginning of the bad years to hear that sentence.
Some from a different city expects the Flames in the Finals?
Sports Illustrated thinks we will win the cup?
But we are the Flames, we suck! Oh wait... we USED to suck.
The high expectations scare me though.

You know how you feel, B. As a Devils fan from the start in '81-82, I endured the Isanders' 4-in-a-row, Gretzky's calling us a "Mickey Mouse club", and all types of bad years only to finally have my come-uppance in '95 when Stevens laid out Kozlov mid-ice en route to a sweep of the heavily favored Wings. This year, alas, I fear there will be no party in the swamp lot this year. :(
