Every so often my SES light will go off and ill take it to get checked and its always a missfire, and they tell me its a bad wire or bad plug, well i've replaced the plugs twice and it continues to do this, as far as i know there isn't any wire to replace on the 2.4, any ideas ?

There may not be wires but there are still boots. They are only like 5 bucks at most parts stores. When I replaced mine they where cracked and burnt. You can always check them for cracks or excessive burning.

If not the plugs, the next step up are the fuel injectors.

i had the same problem as well, my #2 cylinder was misfiring, checked all the fuel supply stuff, nothing, changed plugs and boots, still nothing. Finally i changed out the IDI cover with a different coil set and it ran perfectly! Try that! I just had an extra coil set laying around!
