Ok SO I took off in the journey of interior painting and modding, Ill lay out what ive done , what I plan to do, and then later when Im finished with it all make a FULL How-To on how to comepletly redo the interior, for now Im going to use this thread for questions I have along the way :)

Ok so heres the deal, its a complete interior redo lol sounds fun :-P

What Ive already Done

The Color Scheme/ theme is Black Crystal Blue and chrome.

New headunit, Subs, and CB radio. Ive painted the radio trim and the shifter trim, All vents the lil holder on the driver side down below all the crystal blue.

the AC Knobs are now crhome. Ive replaced all the bulbs that Ive gotten to so far with blue ones.

WHat Im looking to do REAL Soon!

2 APC Racing seats
paint the whole dash black and door panels black get the fabric in the door panels reuphostered to blue and paint everything the running boards the back EVERYTHING CHANGED!

Carpet insert(Black)(Do they make one?)

reuphoslter the rear seats to black and Blue

(Im still in highschool but we have a embrodery machiene and I am going to EMbroider a blue alero sign into my floormats for free :-D)

get the rear speaker deck to black.

get a nice Shift knob and E-Brake Handle

get the white face gaugues. EVERYTHING, its going to be awesome :-D

and anything else on the interior i can find to mod, now as I said I am dedicated to this(Considering Im already In the middle of it) and am going to do it all, but im definetly going to have some question like I already have :-P here they are

1. I unbolted the Ac controls from the radio trim to paint it and the backing came off the slector switch and the springs fell out...how are they placed once inside the compartment between the knob and the back piece that plugs in.?

2. where can I get a carpet insert ?

1. Same thing happened to mine... I believe there's little seats for the springs, I can't say for sure, though, as this happened a while ago when I had my stereo apart.

2. lemme find that link... here's a Carpet site (http://www.auto-interior.com/index.html) that has fitted carpets.

Nice, aweosme link on the carpet man, lol its a cheap carpet too ;). SO i went to pull out the middle vent today to do the paint on it and it broke..the other two came off easy and look really good now. As soon as i get a complete day off from school and work i am going to do the Door panels and the rear plastics and the running baord plastic in the door jams.

I will post pics when i egt to this step because at this point the alero will bu completely gutted out and what not. :-P

Im looking around now for a place that will do my seats for a decent price.

Hmm other advancements will come soon, im goin to look for the a new middle vent tomm so thatll be fun, thanks for the support ppl.

By the way just like any other project im going to quote myself how much i think its going to cost me and then we'll see how much it really cost , my guess is 800$ Cya ppl

the dash/doors shouldn't take you much more then a week of work....thats about what it took me...if you got questions, just ask...i did mine last year, and it hasnt' peeled after -50*C cold all the way up to 45*C heat...if you do it right, it'll last

Hide the wires under the dash, hide the neon next to the seat looks like you just dropped it there and your good, love the color of the trim, definitly!!!

good spot for the CB, what do you have holding it up? how much space does it remove from the glove box?

I made a how to in the how to section but i went to Home Depot and bough some metal 90 degree corners and made a custom bracket in there, and the one on the left is removable by just snapping it out so the CB can be taken out easily, Its not a hard project either, took me about 45 min tops. But the space is about id say about 1/4 left over on the left.

yea those neons are huge, Im not planning to keep those ones there for to much longer Im replacing them and putting more in, but those might go back with the subs, I have a Blacklight back there now and am about to put some glowin the dark paint on them in circles so that at night when the blacklight hits it, it will bounce so fast itll make it looks blurred, its gunna be cool.

Also next week on one of the days, I am going to take out the door panels and drive without them completely for a few days until i get all the painting done, so ill have some pics of that.

PS. I am going to the track Sep 1st so wish me luck, hopefully Ill whip some preludes and Celicas :P cya all

Good luck on the track.

It's looking good so far... as for driving without the door panels... yeah, did that for a while too... wasn't bad...

Couple questions though, about the CB... what size of antenna are you going to use, and is it going to be a fixed mount, or removable?

Either way, it's looking good.

The antenna is going to go down where the stock muffler was(Basically lay it out under the rear bumber like you would a underbody neon, Im thinking of getting a big one cause i wanna be able to hear everything lol.
