Hi i'm Maarten from the Netherlands.

Some time ago i saw a Chevrolet Alero, yes they really are rebadged to Chevys in Europe, and kind of thought it was a neat looking car.

Poorly rebadged because the steering wheel is olds as are all other markings except on the trunk, it says Chevrolet and on the front, where a Beautie is glued on a black oval (Ford) background which was then stuck with double sided tape to the front.

Considering "we" drive totally different cars overhere the Alero is not seen in everyday traffic.

After some thorough research on the internet i found out its basically a real crappy car so....... I got ahead and bought it.

Trading in a Subaru Legacy, known for it's reliability, i'm not sure what to expect but the Sub got so boring.

Oh its a 2000 V6 without sunroof and no leather, slightly different models overhere, here it's called 3.4 SC nevermind.

Got a full year warrenty from the (Peugeot) dealer and upon delivery they already repaired the blowerunit, brakes and bearings.

Well, i leave it at this for now, but will surely be hopping in and out of this board while you guys are sleeping :P

Quoted post

Well eh, I guess I don't understand it either, if you look at carsurvey.org the car isn't really coming out very strong.

But I think it looks great, was fed up driving a four banger and generally like the luxury and relaxed way of driving of American cars.
Besides that, when I went for a testdrive it felt good and I knew I was gonna buy it despite the negative critics its been getting, of course being convinced mine is a good one

By the way, nice .gif you planted there, i've been "The Saint" for many years, one reason because I also have a Volvo 1800S, but hadn't seen this one yet.

Welcome,

You know they say everyeone's a critic. I like my Alero, no matter what anyone else says. Just as long as you enjoy it and like the way it drives.

That's one of the main reasons I like mine so much..
