Here it is, the final Points Race. I trail 4th place by 2 points (need 3 to overtake the position) and 3rd place by 4 points. I need to have a perfect day to stand a chance of moving into 3rd place, especially since there will only be maybe 6 rounds of eliminations at the most today. With it being Labor Day weekend enough people might stay home to make it only a 5-round day. I have to hope for early exits by the others ahead of me and me to go to the Final Round.

Redog is home nursing the car so I might be pitting solo again today.

Wish me luck!

Good luck, how'd you do

Looking into the money sistuation and thinking about getting a low mileage "G" body car. They are out there. The main reason I'm looking for low miles is I won't be able to do the upgrades right afterI get it. I just saw a sweet 1978 Buick Skylark on eBay up in Long Island NY. Only a 2 hour drive. This wolud be good but I can't afford it right now.

Year one and maybe year tow of owning this car 18's year 3 13's ;)

Yesterday SUCKED!!!!!

I easily won the 1st race but then went red in round 2. I thought I was still okay since everyone in spots 6 through 9 also went out - or so I thought. 1 guy who was 4 points behind me was still in it. He ended up going all the way and winning the Final Round to knock me back to 6th place.

End result - no bonus money for me and possibly no entry into the Bracket Finals at the end of the month. I'm on "stand by" for the BF so it's not even worth me reserving a hotel room for now and most places will pack fast.

f***!!!!!!!!!

Thanks. I'm beginning to think I don't actually deserve to run at the Bracket Finals. All 5 of the guys ahead of me have been in the Finals at least twice this year, yet I have only reached the Semis twice this year. It's the 1st year that I've raced and never made it to the final round. I was consistent enough, though, to finish #6 which still says something.

But the Bracket Finals is where each track takes their best drivers to compete as a team against the other tracks in the division. This year I was not one of the best. Too many stupid costly mistakes.

Maybe next year.

Thanks again. Speaking of which, with over 170,400 miles on the original stock engine, it's time to think about rebuilding or replacing the engine, or even the car itself. Don't have much of a budget to work with but gotta do something as I don't know if she'll hold out another full season as is.

ask them to start a "high mileage class". you'll win for sure then.
