MAD wheel hop on ice

When i try get goin on a really icy street, my wheels hop like crazy.

Now keep in mind, my tires are friggen bald (gonna invest in new ones soon... ) could this be causing it?

It doesn't sound too pretty at all. Also, will this slowly kill my suspension?

Well not only the suspension but the drive shafts also

My drive shafts/gears/timing belt are all in one piece still, so i'm not too worried about them yet ;)

If your tires are that bad, then they are probably out of round.
