you know "those ones" lol, j/k, i will do a little research as well

mfuller

They were Trend seats...I don't think Recaro makes them anymore. The ones that the OSV had were heated/ventilated and had a inflatable lumbar adjuster. The "Sport Topline" seat is probably the closest of the current offerings.

they look more like recaro "style" than recaro trend....

FormulaNERD
09-14-2005, 02:48 PM
autosport gallery has them in stock, around 1100 each for cloth, 1400 for leather, 5% discount if a pair is bought.

1044, for fabric, 1329 for leather.... in the "trend"

"sportline" upgrade (power, heat, vent) is around 300 a seat.

Oldsman

i found the trend for $730 cloth but $1299 leather plus $325 for the the heat and vent.

but then the price for having the leather redone.

so damn expensive

the guy on the phone said that most online price listings arent current, and since recaro raised the retail prices sept. 1st, the seats are a little more expensive, but he still offers them below retail.

The recaro seats were the "style, and I am looking for them in the same colorscheme as the osv, tan and gray, pics are on wikipeida for alero osv.
the run 1300 for leather, and 16-1700 for topline power, to get heated and vent u need the XL series which are probably close to 2K (guessing, havent seen prices for them)

dorry for bringing up an old post, but its been a while so ai got a lot of catching up to do :)

The leather color scheme and embroidery will be a custom job...

DansGen1Alero
08-22-2008, 02:12 PM
I kinda figured that, its sad recaro doesnt offer the colorscheme its hard to find 2 toned with any recaro dealer, and I have been looking on east and west coast. Not worried about the ebrodiery because frankly i do not want anybody to know it was an oldsmobile. GM disappointed me and threw all of us dedicated consumers under the bus. I WILL NOT BUY AMERICAN ANYMORE. I have a lexus and OMG I love it. Don't get me wrong I still love my Alero, but I am not giving any credit to GM. It just makes me sad :( Oldsmobile was the pioneer for most car features, and GM treats them like this, ha.

sorry to get off topic, had to vent a lil after reading some other OSV posts, ie crushing, and hiding the last one.

Yea, Oldsnut Knows where it is though.

We'll get her back.

So greenie was crushed?

DansGen1Alero
08-22-2008, 03:01 PM
everything I read was that it was crushed, and I thought red one too, but evidently not,

but back on the topic of the seats, if anyone has any insight, info blah blah, or has anyone purchased recaro seats????

Need to do something soon, 10 year old cracked leather looks like butt, and it smells like an ashtray in there, lol

mfuller
08-22-2008, 03:04 PM
One of the red ones was crushed, along with the green one. The existing red one was the show car.....who knows if the PCM calibration is up for regular driving duty (beyond being driven into and out of a transporter).

You should just get these Dan:

DansGen1Alero
08-22-2008, 03:08 PM
thanks, good to be back, thanks for the suggestion, im just not fond of racing seats, my alero was never realy a "go" car it was always more show, and the semi luxury inside look i wanted to keep and with those "style" seats I would def be keeping that. the exterior tho is gonna start to get crazy planing on lambos, shaved doors, fiberglassing dash and painting woodgrain :) brakes then maybe revisit the suspension (air)

The OSV Recaros were believe it or not actually used as OEM seats in an Opel. Go to Recaro.com and look at the european seats offered and under Opel I think its the Tigra model you can see the exact seat used in the OSV cars I think you would need to put a custom leather bolster in the middle though as I am not sure they are 100% leather. Save money and find a Tigra LOL and buy it whole just for the seats.

Ha, dealers are so dumb like that..

I see crushing prototype so people don't just buy that at a low price instead of the real production model (1 lost sale is 1 lost sale man), but things like the OSVs, ***The EV1 electric cars***, etc, that's just smashing shit for the hell of it or what?

I seriously don't get it, it's not like keeping it/ selling it to a museum would've put.. something??.. in jeopordy.

Business minds are wired weird sometimes it seems.

SO THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE OSV's????? omg thats utter bullshit

Oldsnut
08-23-2008, 02:20 AM
They crushed them because they could not be sold legally as car in general. Some concepts made it thru to the sale mode, some did not.

Many cars had aftermarket parts that would never pass EPA or NTSB standards and could not be sold. GM crushed the cars that could not meet these standards. Aftermarket parts were sold off and the rest was crushed.

GM gave approval for production of the OSV in November of 2000 and GM announced the closure of Olds in December of 2000.

01OldsAleroGt
08-23-2008, 02:24 AM
well..... we should open up with GM to re-manufacture the parts they crushed on the OSV models... to broaden the spectrum... and it would bring in some money to the company.. make an outside company but still part of the GM ring... that produces/sells the aftermarket parts for em.. either that.. or hold em hostage and make em bring olds back from the dead !

Ok we got off topic here, and I am sorry I started it there is a seperate thread for the OSV and everyones utter disbelief and anger about it.

lets just get back to the Recaro seats and anyone else who can provide some help, The best help so far is to find a recked Opel Tigra, but I dont even think they are around my area, thought it was an overseas thing not sold in US.

It is also possible to find a wrecked Cobalt ss Supercharged or Ion Redline that had optional Recaros....although I'm not certain what model Recaros they used, but they are very comfortable and supportive.

i would just releather mine, but my pimp lean broke the driver seat, no longer a bucket, its more like an L shape, and the metal on the right side is coming through the seat and also something shout out the back of the seat and punctured the leather, my elbow wore throught the armrest and i had to buy another off e-bay, lmao

those are being sold on ebay for 295 shipped brand new, I like them but since I am keeping the 3point, i do not want the holes in the seat for 4 or 5 and not use it, I also want the power at least for driverside. I am a bit picky, so I know I will probably end up spending mucho bucks, ( gotta pay the price to look nice) plus I want lighter colors, white, beige light grey, etc

i'd love the idea to re-do the front and rear from the GTO to the Alero..

or the seats from the Cobalt/Ion

Eh.. one thing.. the seat rails would we have to fab some in to get either the GTO or Cobalt/Ion seats to fit

surreal_awakening
08-24-2008, 12:39 PM
the metal on the right side is coming through the seat and also something shout out the back of the seat and punctured the leather

Got the same two problems with my leather, hence why I am swapping out the interior now. 246k miles with my fat ass will do that to a seat!

I know i am thread jesusing, but I have information for anyone that was interested in the recaro seats.

I contacted recaro to find out about the color scheme, and though I didnt get much of an answer I was told that any dealer of recaro seats would be able to get the exact style and color scheme that were used in the OSV.
