i was running the wires for amp this weekend and say a bulge under the carpet under the front seat that i never noticed in my 99 alero. i just bought this 04 alero a month or so ago. andway, i hit the lump and my doors locked. i was like wtf. i pulled back the carpet and saw that it was a keyless entry remote for my car. i was pretty damn excited. first time i'v ehad keyless entry. my question: is there any other type of remote, smaller and not a gm, that i could buy and program to work with the stock keyless entry system?

nope, I don't believe there is. Unless you run a whole aftermarket keyless system.

Good find!

he hit, touched, pressed the "lump"

"lump" = Stoß, Klumpen, Ausbuchtung

(under his carpet) and the "lump" was his keyless entry remote

when i got my car, it had a keyless entry thing laying on the dash. it was kinda melted and didnt work tho =( so we called the dealer asking if we could just get another one, and they said my car didnt come with them. but it was a stock keyless entry 'mote. sooo yeh i open my doors with the keys -_-"

mine were new in the trunk under the carpet on the left, sealed in plastic with the cargo net and cig lighter/ashtray. it was a pleasant surprise after going a year without keyless entry. thank god i spilled OJ and vodka back there, cause otherwise i probably wouldnt have looked, lol
