Color Curious

i just wanted to take a little poll and see what color everyone likes on the alero best and everyone hates. out of these choices which do you think is best and which do you dispise:

white
black
silver
dark green
red
blue

thanks...im gonna use this to decide what color to put on mine (or wheather to keep it the same) thanks. :popcorn:

If your going to re-paint your entire I'd go with something custom. Don't get the same colors that are already out there.

personally.. i like the maroon. but if/when i repaint mine.. i want more of a deep arterial blood color.

hmm yeh dont repaint stock or even close to stock.. you will still look like every other alero.. If i could repaint mine? It would be orange!! LOL with mad tons of pearl in it. like a creamsicle!! lol annnd.. really smooth too.. shaved handles.. hehe =)

either high gloss black or a cream white, but that is much too hard to keep clean and not worth a custom paint job to do.

A good pencil lead color with schrome accents. I liked the chrome accents on the ALero ALpha protype. Was sad to see they didn't make it. Asede from chrome emblems and window trim.

I have the stock midnight blue...but if I were to get custom paint, I would just go to a different shade of blue...a more flashy shade of blue.

ummm....civic si blue with black basecoat (old alero) or paint code 38 (1970 442 w30 only aegean aqua poly-new alero)

In my opinion, the best Alero colors are Red, Midnight Blue and Tropic Teal. My least favorite Alero colors are Auburn Night Mist and Bronze Mist.

well i guess i need to put this in a diffrent way cause people are just naming colors that arn't even in the original post. basically my car is silver and im trying to decide if that is too ugly or if when i put my body kit on. i should have them repaint the whole thing. :rolleyes:

Silver and red are the best colors on an alero imo. Although, for the first 5 seconds when my black car is sparkling clean, it looks better than everything. For the rest of the time though, black cars suck and I'll never own another one in my life time.

It could be clean as heck, but it shows the smallest specks of road grime the next day after a wash. Even more when I use tire shine :P

I think either a deep glossy red or a deep glossy black. I use to have a black truck, and that color does get dirty really easy, but it's gorgeous when it's clean.

candy apple red or a gunmetal would be awesome... definately go custom though. mine is red, but as soon as i finish with the body work, then ill be having a custom paint job done. if you were to go with stock colors i like silver. because it looks good with pretty much everything. it really depends what you are doing to your car. decals, rims, carbon fiber, etc...

here is my opinion, if you have a silver alero and are planning on a body kit, save yourself some trouble and repaint it anything other than silver. i have yet to see a silver alero turn out. the bumpers end or darker or lighter depending on light. it happened with my car and robfoo cars here: http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?showtopic=14667

im not picking...i just noticed the whole two tone between bumper and body cuz i had it as well. ask oldsman or any body thats seen my car in person before i repainted it. it looks kinda sh@tty bcuz of it.

:iagree: Same thing happened with mine when I did it. When it was out in the middle of a parking lot with no clouds and the sun beating down on it, it would look like it had shadows on it.

I think all this "looks best when clean" can be said about any of the metallic colors too. (midnight blue really = Navy Blue Metallic = rules until the rain dries off)

i like the red.....maybe some other hints of color, that are only picked up under certain lighting, or a pearle coat over it.... naw maybe not might look like a pink alero then.

custom paint jobs varie a lot so getting a quote is hard from job to job... i wouldn't plan on spending any less than 3,000 on it.... depending on what prep time is needed... and what is being painted... also... i've seen paint that costs 2,000$ a quart... granted is was half gold... hahaha.... anyway... you always have the option to go primer.... HA! :lol: but seriously if i had a car i wanted to paint i wouldn't do a stock color...

I got a color. Purple Rain. The school I go to made that paint. Its a PPG paint and it's not for sale but I could steal the formula if I wanted to. The pic does not do it justice. That is one of the coolest colors i have seen.

That paint coast as much as a tri coat paint job and is only a base coat clear coat.

Hey I like the auburn nightmist. it looks really good w/ chrome & tint at night.

my favorite colors: dark blue, dark bronzemist, and I've saw an electron blue alero that looked sharp.
