View Full Version : Tires What Size For Stock Supension

Should I stay with the stock 225/50/16 or can I move to a lower profile tire? Then again I don't really want to look like it has a supension lift on it. Maybe just a bigger foot print. Maybe a 245/50/16

You'll have to recalibrate the speedo though. If I remember correctly 245 would get you rubbing if you lowered the car in the future. That's my memory telling me, although I could be wrong.

245 will only get you rubbing if the offset is too small.
use this http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to figure out how big you want to go.
You really shouldn't get a lower profile tire with the same size wheels. find some nice 17's or 18's and figure out the tires later.

yeah like me, i got 17s with 255/40/17s on eibachs, no rubbing whatsoever.....
