Car Repainting

Smashed my front fender pretty bad, well actually it was a hit and run by some ..grrrrr.... looks like im going to need a new fender which is going to cost me a lot probably, but anyways im going to have to get it repainted and ir eally dont like the color of my car in the first place so i was considering just getting the whole thing repainted, a local auto shop which does show cars priced me at about 2500, i believe they will do a good job, but i was just wondering how much a good paintjob should run me so i dont get ripped off, any suggestions would help.. thanks.

Depends on what colors you're using, etc. A stock GM color, for a complete color change, would run somewhere between $1000 and $1500, I would think.

my paint job for whole car cost me 50.00 but that was cuz it was keyed and insurance claimed.. just do that.. key what didnt get damaged and have insurance cover it

Yah.. 1000-1500 american sounds about right for like a stock color... or something basic...
if you want sometin nice.. maybe some pearl.. 2500 is about right :thumbsup:
but... the skys the limit... and yea get somethin nice from house of kolor... or Dupont you can get some paint where just the PAINT will cost 2000-3000 lol

oh trust me i was into the whole insurance thing until i found out i have a 1000$ deductable , well my dad does and im on his insurance, gah, anyways anyone know the pricing on a new fender? its the one that sits right above the driver side wheel well and runs backwords, and if anyone has any helpful hints on anyway i can get this done cheaper it would be nice maybe i could like run scrapes down the side of my car and say they kept going but only enough to scratch the paint to the point where it all needs to be redone but im still not sure if doing that is worth it or if just getting the work done and car repainted would be easier, either way any ideas and help would be appreciated.

oh i dunno. lol my car got partially keyed so i placed a police report. and my deductable is 500 but since it was vandilism all i pay is 50.00

I wouldnt try the insurance thing.. MAYBE if you filed a report like Pimpalero03, because if i had some beater and hit some ones newer alero... i would just wistle and drive away.. (well accually i would stop but.... ya know)not key the other car...
As far as other ways to get it repaired... a new fender and just getting the front half of the car painted would be a good option.. or finding annother alero at the junkers.. with the fender in the same color and swaping it would be the easyest way... you can swap them yourself in a few hours

Please don't discuss insurance scams here. If you want to do that, that is your choice, but keep it off this site.
