Well my car took a pretty bad hit and run while sitting in the fred meyers parking lot a couple days ago. The dent itself is not that bad looking, but now the door flexes like its a tin can. Anyways, i talked around to the body shops and the want $1k+ to fix it. I just thought to myself, i could buy a new door, and install it myself in our auto shop class. We've got all the tools and proper manuals. What do you guys think, how hard of an install would this be, with electrical and whatnot. I see there is a 4 door alero passanger door on ebay right now, would that fit my 2 door or not. thanks guys. Any info is appreciated.

www.car-part.com should uncover a few doors that'll fit the coupe

alright thanks, they have plenty of doors, hopefully i can get one cheap. He's asking 500 for a complete one, not bad at all vs. 1000 to repair a dent.

make sure the door is painted when you buy it , or that'll cost more money

Wow, you're not sure if the 4 door will fit the 2 door, and ya wanna do the install yourself? Dude, call your insurance company and report the hit and run. Your premium won't go up for that.

And btw... oh never mind, I'll let Brent take it from here.

ok, i'll break this down for you........the 2 door and the 4 door models are the same length overall, but the doors from the coupes are longer than the doors from the sedans, thus they won't work........when you buy a new door, if you prime it yourself, it should save you a little money at the paint shop, just make sure you use sandable primer, and not the cheap stuff............i had to replace a door on my rx-7 before, so i kinda know what's goin on........good luck with it
