Alright guys, So I decided I would give this a try. I am looking to head to Atco Raceway in New Jersey sometime in the Spring. To be more specific I am looking at sometime between March 10th,11th or 12 or March 17th, 18th or April 15 or 16th. I realize that everyone needs a heads up, and I thought what better then to give everyone a few months heads up. :P Currently Atco does not have the Race Schedule for 2006 posted on their website so I am going to call them and find out what days list above are Test and Tune Days. I found on there page that Fridays are usually " Street Racing Open to All vehicles" But I do believe there are several Saturdays and Sunday that are Test and Tune days. I will look into it more. If you have never been to the track before don't worry, its not scary or hard. You might be nervous your first time but don't NOT come because you have not been there. Its an experience I think all motor heads should experience. So what I am asking from you guys is the following.

Check your Schedule for the following Dates:
Fri March 10th Or
Sat March 11th Or
Sun March 12th Or
Fri March 17th Or
Sat March 18th Or
Sat April 15th Or
Sun April 16th

Leave a Post if your Interested, Stating when you'd like to go. So I can start a list and keep up with the list Reminding you, and Checking Dates. We will see how this goes.

For more information on Atco Raceway go to their Site:

I called and spoke with someone at the Racetrack who told me that they do not have the schedyle out yet, but that the Test and Tunes are usually the same each year. That doesn't really help because they don't have previous year posted on their site. But she did tell me that Test and Tunes are usually Fridays. So we could look at going there Friday Morning, on the above dates. Whats your thoughts guys. :beerchug:

I work Friday mornings. And Redog and I race regularly at Englishtown. Atco's too long of a drive for me and a lower quality track than RP (IMO). You wanna come up to RP for some T&T I'll be running in the Points Series there on Sundays and may come to a Saturday race or 2 before the Points officially start up. RP usually opens the last weekend in February or the 1st in March for T&T.

I have never been to Englishtown, but would be willing to go there. From what I hear its a 1/4 mile track right? Also alittle confused by what u were saying but when do they do Test and Tunes? And I am looking at getting a Spring Track Day. So after winter ...

Yeah March is the start of the points at E town. I'll still be racing the old Alero, however I probably won't be racing every points day next year. Still kicking around the amount of races I'm going to do.

Atco is a little faster than RP, but RP is better

So can we go to RP and do Test and Tune or no ?

Daytona
11-02-2005, 10:11 PM
Yes. You can run Wednesday and Friday EVENINGS for T&T, as well as Saturday afternoons/evenings (gates open Sat. @ 2pm). Usually the first 1 or 2 weekends is completely T&T, no bracket racing.

You can always run T&T on Sundays but it isn't worth spending $100 for a Sunday 6-run T&T ticket when you can make the same number of runs or more (usually, if you get there early enough) on Saturdays for $20 or $30 (I forget the price). If you race on Sunday your best bet is to run Street ET for $30. You'll get 2 time shots and then at least 1 round of eliminations (or more if you keep winning).

RP has both a 1/4-mile track (built in 1964) and an 1/8-mile track (built around 1997-98). There's also a Motocross course and a moto practice track, a go-cart course, a jet ski lake, and a soon-to-be-opened road course. And once in a while the track hosts drifting competitions in the "spectator-side" parking lot.

I only know because I have been there before. I wouldn't mind going to RP but having to go on a Wed night from 6 - 10 is kind of harsh. I enjoy going on the weekend for a day. Or even a Friday. I don't want to do time trials or any eliminations, I just want to go and run for a few hours. RP doesn't seem to have that option. :glare:

Daytona

RP DOES have that option. When you run your car for fun - that IS Time Trials. That's what it's called.

There are no eliminations on Wednesday nights, just time trials. And Friday night you have the option of TT or eliminations. Same with Saturday afternoons/evenings and the Sunday 6-run TT ticket (though that's too expensive for anyone not testing a $60,000 pro tree car).

I know guys who have gone early on a Saturday and gotten 7 runs in before eliminations started at 7pm. Then they raced in an eliminator. The key is getting there when the gates open. Fewer cars are there then and you can make more runs earlier on before the lanes fill up.

Even if you sign up to run eliminations on a Friday night or Sunday you still get 1 or 2 Time Trial runs beforehand.

So if we went on a Friday night, I could do Time Trials(also known as Test and Tune lol). And Gates open at 5 so I would get there at 4 lol. That sounds good to me. Can we pick a date within these ?

Fri March 10th Or
Sat March 11th Or
Sun March 12th Or
Fri March 17th Or
Sat March 18th Or

The 17th is out because that's my g/f's b-day. Plus I'm not much for Friday nights since it gets pretty busy between TT, Top Street, and Gambler's Races. I'll want to do some practice before Points begin so I might be up for a Saturday practice - 3/11 or 3/18, depending on what weekend Sunday Points begins.

The official schedule should be out in mid-January for both tracks.
