Hey guys. I just locked down the hotel reservation for Papa Rad and I. I asked about some things..

First: Normal room rate is $85.00 per night and $99.00 on the weekends, so we aren't getting a wonderful deal which is annoying since so many of us are going.

Second: Based on the above information, I asked if they give a AAA discount... and they do. If you have a AAA membership, your room rate is $71.10 per night.

I just thought I'd pass this along. Based on that, it seems like as a group we should be paying closer to $60 per night.

[ion] C2 05-14-2012 10:24 AM

You must've forgotten to give them the code, so they gave you the normal rates.

Group Block Code: Alero12

xXManwhoreXx 05-14-2012 11:15 AM

I gave them the code. They told me normal rates were 85 for weekdays and 99 for weekends and we were getting 85 for all days. They told me that the AAA discount was better. What are you paying per night?

The pics make it look better than it is  Bunch of little dents along the top of the of the doorskin from when my mom had it....gotta get those PDR'ed....clear peeling on the passenger side fender and door....smashed front bumper cover on the driver side with no fog light (hopefully i can get that fixed before ASS). No more chrome rims....have yet to update my pic:lol:

It's in pretty good condition other than that.....i had quite a few people tell me how good of condition my car is in for being 10 yrs old. I do try to take care of her :) I'm a body guy and i don't take care of the body.....go figure ;)

So is this a decent area or a 'make sure your shit is locked up' type area?

where we stayed last year (manwhore and i) we got to park right by the door all night, and they were cool with it. but the ramada, i would say its a pretty decent area, but i mean.... would you ever leave your car unlocked? i dont think so... anything can happen anywhere, at anytime!

I ALWAYS lock my car with the windows all the way up. sure anything can happen anywhere but overall if its a bars on the windows type area I wouldn't want to leave my car.

Papa Rad17 05-15-2012 01:52 AM

ok so I'm looking at about 350 miles one way for me. so I need a $175 gas budget (i get 22 highway but it takes premium gas only) maybe around $100-$150 for food? what else do I need to budget in for stuff there? so people that have made the trip before, what kind of extra money should I have on hand for stuff up there? whats a ball park figure I'll need for food?

Oldsman 05-15-2012 02:01 AM

The group rate is for the people registered.

The group rate is what it has been for years. Maybe if we actually had more people coming every year I could fight for a lower rate. But the contract that I sign is been the same and the amount of rooms we block is the same. However not only does the hotel treat us great they provide security for our cars every night.

However based on what I am seeing looks like I will be buying some rooms this year.

Oldsman 05-15-2012 02:03 AM

Also the hotel has the sheriff dept across the street stop by during the night and check on things.

Oldsman 05-15-2012 02:06 AM

Ken, we need to repost the ASS list.

Redog 05-15-2012 02:07 AM

So if guys call for the lower rate, the blocked rooms don't get used?

Oldsman 05-15-2012 02:25 AM

If you don't give the group code then no. also based on past experience priceline or hotwire don't go towards the block.

Group rate is based on block size and since pricing is becoming an issues for everyone and the amount of rooms we use is getting less, maybe I will need to look elsewhere for a hotel or different location.

Down side is the Alero chapter and I relationship we have built with the hotel.

Looks like the chapter has somethings to discuss at ASS for next year.

xXManwhoreXx 05-15-2012 03:00 AM

Save that kinda talk for spring meets when only og's go!

fisdad 05-15-2012 02:32 PM

So I'd like to have my car in the show, but I didn't know for sure that I was coming in time to register.

So, I know that I can't be judged this time around since I didn't plan ahead, but I'd like to be in the show if possible. If I can still register for that, how do I do so and who do I need to talk to?

Papa Rad17 05-15-2012 03:41 PM

^can he take the spot that I registered for?

jawa 05-15-2012 10:54 PM

Pm me

fisdad 05-15-2012 11:12 PM

Matt- how much do credits cost? I'd be interested in sOme fun tweaks to my little 2.4 if costs are reasonable. I need the thing reprogrammed because of some hesitation.
