Y pipe came disconnected tonight, darn pacesetter headers.... gotta fix that sometime, so hard cause of the little space you cant put an air tool on it to get real tight so you gotta do it by hand, real annoying. not looking forward to it..

now just gotta find the time to.

yeah i might go to an exhaust shop today and get the y pipe welded, or something.

sleepyalero 11-15-2012 04:45 PM

well went to a shop today. they did some tack welds on the Y pipe. when he was done he said "that wont be coming back off" i replied i sure hope not. so, it should be fixed and shouldnt fall off anymore. (its only fell off 3 times since i got it back from MMS) never had the problem before, but im not blaming mike. i think the reason is the whole transmission change, the stiffer tranny mounts just kinda make the exhaust shake loose there. so its really not a big deal. Plus, they did the welds on my Y pipe free! so no harm done.

its just with the piping pacesetter gives you, the Y pipe that connects to the crossover pipe and rear header (sits right in the middle of the downpipe tunnel) so its literally impossible to tighten with air tools, ive tried to get it tight 3 times with a wrench, and after a couple times of driving the car hard, it just liked to fall off. the exhaust never hit the ground or me lose anything, it would just drop down but i would be running open headers. anyway, took these when i got back. there she sits. :)

notice the rocket ship olds logo ;)

and for everyone who doesnt like pacesetter, this is one of the reasons i really love this exhaust. 2 years and still looks new! (except inside of course)

RedRocket420 11-22-2012 01:31 PM

well, i cleaned my hood today. Got carpet bombed pretty hard last night.....god dam seagulls

billytheman1188 11-22-2012 09:31 PM

Sleepy.....is that really why you love the pacesetter exhaust?! LOL...i hated those yellow stickers...took them off first thing.

Redrocket....carpet bombed...LOL. I saw a newer Sante Fe today with bird crap all over the lift gate....HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN!? It's a vertical door...idk how the birds crapped on it...unless it was left open all day lol.

Papa Rad17 11-23-2012 12:31 AM

They ad some pazaz. looks good on there. matching blue would be better though!

sleepyalero 11-23-2012 01:08 AM

yes billy. even tho there is no yellow on the car i dont mind it (cause who gonna see it unless you bend down) and didnt care to mess wth taking them off.

had a photo shoot with Wombat slayer today. other then that, nothing really done to her. I really want to continue modding though. hopefully my luck with obtaining a job will pull through and i will have a little something something to put into her.

there is absolutely nothing in it for a stereo at the moment... and with the drivers door speaker grill being completely ripped out, I figured I would carry over the gagt swap... got new door panels and the seats are installed (as you can see!) once the car is road worthy, I will take the dash from the coupe and put it in this sedan :)

sleepyalero 12-05-2012 02:12 AM

you should have bought a ga then just swapped the interiors, so you could have an alero with ga int, and a ga with alero int,

jawa 12-05-2012 08:05 AM

or shoulda just bought a ga and drove that

tw0123 12-05-2012 03:08 PM

Couldn't find a grand am in the price range and i like the outer appearance of the Alero better... i do like the boobie dash and seats though ...

03glgold 12-05-2012 03:44 PM

still your car and your personal opinion, however to me everything about the grand-ams appearance is hideous except for a select few that have been built to look good
