Even out of the car your equipment has me jealous. Of course, I only have a set of JL comps and a two channel amp in my car at the moment. It doesn't take much to turn me green with envy. Keep us informed of your projects. Later, Mike G.

Got something sexy in bed beside me - think my girlfriend will be jealous? ;)
Picked it up tonight (PG x600.1)

Triple Darlington output stage, underrated by about 100 (birthsheet shows 718@2).

Going into the girl's install:

'98 VW Beetle
Source: Panasonic CQ-HX1083U
Front stage: not 100% sure - either Bravox Kevlar 6.5" or CDT CL-61A
Front amp: PG x100.2
Rear fill: none of course
Subs: 2x10" Image Dynamics, sealed
Sub amp: PG x600.1

Let me tell you something, these new bugs are a PITA to work on.

Anyways, should have some install pics up in about a week or so when it's all finished.

mikegett 05-16-2006 09:21 PM

I wouldn't complain. I don't even have the full aftermarket install and I work for a audio company. Damn bills and other hobbies have done what I swore would never happen. They stripped me of my pride, dignity, and stereo. Oh well, give me a few months of overtime and the Titanium subs are mine. Oh yeahhh.

violentrapture 05-16-2006 09:26 PM

Eclipse Ti - you bad boy :smokin:

mikegett 05-17-2006 11:28 PM

Oh yeah. A pair of these babies have been haunting my dreams for years. Titillizing me with there sensual curves and smooth cones. Adorning my lap (laptop that is) with full color spreads. With no shame in showing it all. Oh yeah. Many squeeky nights. In fact, I think I just had another.

violentrapture 05-18-2006 02:29 PM

Hate to see what would happen if you held one of the Aura 18s (which I so want to hear)

cherrington17 05-18-2006 02:42 PM

maybe i'm missing something, but why would you pay $800 for a 18" sub, that only puts out 800W @ 86dB???

2sidesoftodd 05-18-2006 03:51 PM

i've never seen a sub that puts out power, so i guess that could be worth some money.

ptrudel 05-18-2006 03:54 PM

holy SOB...man, i cant wait to see your car at ASS now lol

violentrapture 05-18-2006 03:54 PM

Well, I'm playing hooky from work today and decided to have some fun - the ID NX30 tweeters came in, so without further ado, pictures:

All you need to have a lazy Thursday:

mmm, crossover

14 ga. tweeter wire - oh the gluttony

But I can't find any solder, whatever shall I do?

When you wake up after a night of drinking and you have this next to you - it was a good night

Bottom line - these are f'ing amazing tweets - handle power so much better than the CDTs, vocals are much cleaner, and overall the sound is less fatiguing. Off-axis response is a lot better too... optimum location is by my feet, cross firing.

woohoo

cherrington17 05-18-2006 07:26 PM

ok, violent... can you explain what all those sub stats mean?

i'm not really a noob... but i'm no where as well versed as you or mike gett...

violentrapture 05-18-2006 07:30 PM

Cherry - This is my handbook (I do literally have this printed out and stuck in a notebook along with other car audio tidbits I've seen and want to remember) - explains things fairly clearly and easy to understand.
