Panda... if you're Lows are the DRLs they probably aren't getting the full 12volts during the day.. that's TERRIBLE for you HIDs ballasts. Check to make sure it's 12v (use a multimeter), and if it's not getting 12v disconnnect them right away.

If it's not getting the full voltage you'll burn them up.

Only thing is he said he was to lazy to get the relay for it. That bend the pin thing only works for certain years.

so wait a sec.. i have an 03, if i was to get lowbeam HIDs, i'd have to change where my DRL are coming from too???

If you have low-beam DRLs you need to either pull the DRL relay to disable them *or* you can re-wire (or change the harness) so you have high-beam DRLs like the older models.

I'm swapping the harness in mine so I can get fog light wiring too.

my 02 is high beams at a low voltage and my friends 03 is low beams at regular voltage

but try to figure that one out!
just a different wire harness i guess, not a relay or anything

Cliff8928 06-25-2008 06:44 PM

Nah, it's not at regular voltage. There is a DRL resistor which drops it down.

My HIDs went nuts when my DRLs kicked in, so I just disabled the DRL by putting a piece of cardboard between the contact points inside the DRL relay.
Plus it looks awsome when I just turn my LED turn signals on when it gets a lil overcast out.

In the models with low-beam DRLs you can just pull the relay. Mine hasn't been in since I got my HIDs.

to disable them you clip/cover one of the prongs on your relay. cant remember exactly which one it is though off top of my head. yeah, its in the how to section
