doesn't matter dark. watch your mouth. :glare: you'll DEFINITELY get warnings for that kinda crap.
for $250, i'd hold off on subs. for what you listen to (80s) doesn't have much bass and metal is mostly mid/tweet with bass background (not like rap where bass is really important) i'd invest in front speaker upgrades and a decent amp. |
Theres a new MTX amp on my local craigslist for $85.
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_236600X...XD.html?tp=115 I could potentially get it and ship it to you. Seems to be a killer deal. I would E Mail my guy Mike and ask him. Were just down in Toledo so shipping shouldnt be bad. Or you can come get it. cargodzracing@yahoo.com Just tell him I sent you and you will get a better deal ;) I got another guy who sells different stuff also, but hes down Cinci way. If you want I could get you his info also. Mike can get a ton of stuff. DC Audio, RE Audio, Fusion (blah), Planet Audio, Almani, US Amps god I dont know just endless brands...lol. |

he said he mostly listens to rap! |
I been looking on craigslist. and I finally found a decent system :)
2 12" P2s Kenwood 800watt amp. Puts out like 480 RMSx1 so Ill bridge them and put 240 into each. they want 250 so thatd be good. and they come with the enclosure. all for 220. Think that is a good deal? and the guy lives like 10 minutes away, so ill have test it before I buy it. |
I would seriously consider contacting my guy Mike first. At least give him a shot. You might be pleasantly surprised. I know Ive gotten a few killer hookups.
Ask him about a certain Elevation Audio PRO he has lurking around... You JUST might get a killer deal on a fricking sweet sub.... ![]() its the red one ;) |
oo. I didnt read your post ryan sorry. Yeah I was looking for some RE audio 12" SEs :) ill hit him up.
My uncle lives in columbus and comes up a lot so he could prob pick them up on his way up. |
Well beware the RE prices are sky high... (At MSRP at least ;) )
And to be honest if your going to get an SE you should spen another $20 and get an SX model. Seriously a single 15" SX with proper power will make your girlfriend very very very happy. Buy from Mike and I will give you a free box design. And trust me, that will truly put a smile on your face when done... And one last thing Kenwood amps suck dog nuts. To be honest what your about to get isnt much better than what you HAD. |

Hahahha. I can get 2 SE 12s for 200 new off ikesound, but I dont want to spend that much. Im gonna listen to the system before I buy it. See if I really want it. Only thing is I only want to spend a max of like 250 for everything.idk. Ill just see if its really worth it. |

Well I guess it's easier for people to get a hold of me now since I'm here LOL And I'm glad to hear you got a good deal, just be careful pushin that Kenwood amp to hard, cause they can get really hot and don't like going below 2 ohms even though they are capable... Just some tips from the old newb ;) |

haha Thanks mike. I am running both subs on 2 ohms not bridged so its all good. And it has a fan on it:p. I dont drive long enough to run them enough to overheat it so I think I'm fine. well see tho:rolleyes2: |
I cannot, For the life of me find the hole to push the power wire through.
Everything's covered in and I can't get it all off. I see a little bit of the body and that's it. |

its the big gray grommet to the left, and slightly up, from the brake pedal. you basically just force it through the rubber. the downside (on the 3.4) is that the wire comes through behind and under the fusebox. which can be a little bit of a pain to get at. unbend a coathanger and have at it. its that THAT hard. |

Tell me about it... Thank god I have a ton of those. I told meadus to use one :p |

You can also take a small knife or box cutter to make a little slit in the grommet to make it a lil easier to get through (just be careful not to cut any wires)... Another option that we do here a lot if it's to much of a pain to work with existing grommets (or lack there of) is to drill your own hole (again being cautious of where you drill) and then put your own grommet there (Tip: Use some silicone around the hole before placing the grommet to keep moisture out and not rust around the fresh cut metal) :) |

Do you have any RE Audio 15" SX? My friend is looking for 1 of those, an amp and a Box. how much would that be? Or could you throw a system together for him that would be SPL oriented for around 400-500 dollars. new or used doesnt matter. |
For 400-500 bucks you would definitely want to be looking for used for him for that RE SX 15" plus amp capable of pushing it... Just the sub alone has an MSRP of almost $600 bucks... Sure you may be able to find them cheaper online, but it won't be through an authorized RE dealer... I sent ya a pm for another option he may want to consider if he's dead set on that kinda power ;)
