hmm.. i'll have to try that. wouldn't that be in our B pillar, not C?

C pillar, i thought, was back near our rear window?

bdyman 02-11-2009 10:52 PM

on a 4 door it goes like this
a-pillar/b-pillar, c-pillar, d-pillar or sail panle
2 door
a-pillar/b-pillar, c-pillar

and its a DOOR FRAME APPLIQUE, NOT B-PILLAR

cherrington17 02-11-2009 10:53 PM

ah. gotcha.

if you have a sunroof its the right sunroof drain....i had that same thing a while ago...
before you disagree heres the story...
the sunroof drain leaks into the headliner edges runs down the plastic panel and into the door jam as shown in your pics.
it got my fuse box wet and blew the fuses..... just try and see by pooring water into the drain to see if it comes out if not theres your problem;)

i would try to cover up that passenger fusebox, if you short that your gonna have even bigger problems

yes thats what i did until i fixed it i laid a cloth over the fuse box and put the cover back on.

meadus101 02-15-2009 03:37 PM

I'd probably wrap it in Plastic and A tape that won't ruin your dash, with the cloth still inside.

Are you sure it's coming in through the door. On my Escort I had the exact same problem, and it was coming in through the HVAC intake. On most cars there is a drain hole though the fender (inside part you can't see) where the water from your windshield runs off to. Over time leaves, pine needles get in there and it becomes a small composting pile that clogs up the drain hole. Cleaning it out solves the problem.

Update. Finally a semi-warm sunny day in Ohio so I adjusted the striker like body man said and greased the weathstripping with dielectric grease. Now we wait for the rain.
I'll let you know if this fixes the problem.

cherrington17 03-01-2009 01:32 PM

dielectric grease! thats what i remember hearing you can use on the stripping...

THANK YOU!

Update this leak ended up being my winshield seals. All i did to fix was apply some 3M adhesive sealer under the winsheld seal and its fixed finally. The water was coming in at both top corners.

I had the same problem but on my drivers side.

When you say windshield seals, where are those? Mine is leaking on the passenger side too but intermittently. :(

SittinOnChrome 04-27-2009 06:42 PM

I ended up having to get the whole windshield replaced. It cost me 171 dollars went through Guardian Glass came with a no leak warranty. The good thing is they came out to my work place and replaced it in the parking lot which I thought was pretty cool.

CactusWill 04-27-2009 07:56 PM

Ok... But was the glass actually cracked or broken?

SittinOnChrome 04-29-2009 01:30 PM

no the glass wasnt broken or chipped just the seal was bad but they had to replace the glass supposedly they just cant reseal the glass without breaking it

surreal_awakening 04-29-2009 01:38 PM

If that was the case, you'd never be able to go to a junkyard and get a windshield. Sounds fishy to me.

SittinOnChrome 04-29-2009 01:42 PM

Yeah they said they can try to replace the seal but 9 times out 0f 10 the glass ends up breaking. I just thought screw it.... its only 171 bucks. Oh well the money is spent now.
