oh wow! first off thank you so much cherrington. made me rethink every thing with ur comment (earlyer that day i had a proplem yes another 1 i could not get the bolt out of my cap to connect the wires so i had taken the cover off which showed which post were negative and which were postive well long story short i had put the cover on the wrong way dumb i kno but hey we all know how things like that work.. thanks again tho every one

Glad it was an easy fix :)
Always make sure you get the polarity right on anything electrical you do (except when you are wiring a sub out of phase.)
