make sure they are the 50w load resisitors and make sure you mount them well and not to any plastic!! they get effing HOT!! but yea superbrightleds.com has them for cheap..and as a subnote if you change all your tailight bulbs and you loose your cruise control you need load cells on them too and you will get your cruise and abs back!!

NoSweat83 08-09-2010 11:26 PM

Alright info on load cells or ban! lol

Cliff8928 08-10-2010 01:18 AM

... Or you could just wire in a variable load flasher and not waste electricity with resistors.

okay a load cell just makes the car think that there is a bulb there since leds do not have much draw cause there usually 1-2w a peice where as a normal bulb is 45-55w so you put in a 50w load cell and your car is all happy no hyper flash and you still have cruise control you will need one for every buld you change if your gonna change every bulb get 7 of them and follow the steps just make sure you line the wires up good when squeezing the inline splicers

Thanks for the info Scott.

scott192 08-12-2010 12:50 AM

NoSweat83 08-12-2010 11:04 AM

Yup, me too. Last night is when I figured that one out but, been wondering why my ABS light came on. WTF!

cavaliers60 08-12-2010 12:16 PM

Got my HID lights in today (thank you Ryan!), and already got them installed! Here's a couple daytime pics and a video of what they look like.... Used my laptop's camera and the lights turned out kinda greenish on it, but they are actually pretty white with some blue to them. :)

Looks good man.

cavaliers60 08-16-2010 05:11 PM

Thanks! Smurf's HID guide helped out a lot. I looked over that thread a good 4-5 times before I got them, and even looked at it once before I installed them. Did everything like he did, and it worked out great. Although the whole rubber cover thing was a little tricky... With the wires coming out of it like in the picture, the headlight housing needs a little extra pushing to get it to latch back on the car. So it's kinda snug behing the headlight housing.

I would try and goto some junk yards and get some projectors. BMW auroa cougar celica plus prolly more.

cavaliers60 08-16-2010 07:13 PM

nah, not doing major mods like that. Although it would be really nice. :)

cavaliers60 08-17-2010 12:43 AM

Here's a night time video of my HID's. Sorry again, I am using my laptop camera.... I don't own a digital camera or anything currently.

Not really all that major if you want really easy projector think it's the mini h1 I'd have to look but basically take ur bulb out take lense off put projector threw hole and then from other side screw on the bulb holder. Put lense back on and put bulb in and ur done.

It probably isn't that difficult, but I just don't have the time to do it really.... I'm not that concerned about it though.

Sadly, my phone does a much better job than my macbook at taking pictures. Here's what they look like in all their bright, blueish glory!
